22| Giving Birth

Toni frantically got everything ready.

They loaded into the car.

At the hospital

"My wife's water broke!" Toni told the receptionist.

She pressed the button, A nurse came out with a gurney, Cheryl laid on it.

They rushed her to a room.

"How is this happening? She's only 8 months along!" Toni asked the nurse.

"Sometimes this happens, especially when it's her first pregnancy. But the babies are healthy and fine." The nurse smiled as he set Cheryl up with needles.

"Oh okay." Toni sighed of relief. She went to Cheryl's head, rubbing her chopper hair.

"How are you feeling, baby?" Toni asked, gently stroking her hair. Her forehead was sweaty.

"I'm ahh, I'm fine." Cheryl groaned as she felt another contraction.

"How far are the contractions?" The nurse asked.

"About 20 minutes apart," Cheryl said.

She nodded, "It won't take long until your in actual labor. You're only 3 centimeters dilated. You have to be 10 in order to give birth. Try walking around and talking them out." The nurse smiled.

She walked out, with a smile.

Toni turned to face her wife, who had her eyes closed.

She sighed, dialing her mom's number.

"Toni? It's 2 AM in the morning!"

"I know, ma. Cheryl's water broke!" She told her mother.

"Oh my God! I'll call Clifford and Penelope get back to Cheryl's side." Esme told her.

Toni hung up, going back over to Cheryl.

She opened her eyes, smiling at her wife.

"Do you need anything? I'll get it." Toni asked.

"Yes. Do you think you can get me some water?" Cheryl asked. Toni nodded, kissing Cheryl's forehead, leaving the room.

Toni went to the closet nurse, "my wife needs water." Toni said.

"Okay. We'll be right there." She nodded.

Toni went back into the room.

5 hours later

Cheryl was now 9 centimeters dilated. It's was 7 AM, Toni was asleep in the chair.

Cheryl groaned the contractions were closer.

Toni sat up abruptly, rushing to her wife's side, "What's wrong?" Toni asked.

"They're closer together now." Cheryl groaned, rubbing the sides of her stomach.

"Okay. Come on. Let me speak to them." Toni said, gently helping Cheryl turn on her back.

Toni sat next to Cheryl, "Hey, girls! Mama here! Your causing mommy a lot of pain. We need you to come out so we can meet you, girls! Everyone is waiting for you. Come on out!" Toni spoke softly.

They started kicking. Cheryl groaned.

"Sorry." Toni chuckled nervously.

The nurse came in, checking Cheryl.

"Your ready to give birth! Your 10 centimeters dilated." The nurse smiled.

Cheryl sighed with a laugh.
