Failing Family

A little treat for you guys.

Almost 8 hours after Ally left she was back, with a badly beaten Alpha and a temper so high that if you put a pan of oil on her head I was sure you could fry some drumsticks.

She escorted Alpha to his room and came back with her phone glued to her ear I wasnt sure what was going on but the little I caught didnt sound very well. She came to me kissed my forehead and then baby Kay-kays and headed to Alphas office. I was worried but gave her space I knew she would come tell me what was going on when ever she was ready.

It still didnt comfort me though something most have happend for them to arrive in this state so I picked up my phone and dialed Vegas number ready to ask questions, the phone rang a couple of times before it was answered.

"Hey baby, give me a minute don't hang up on me." Was all he said I heard the movement of the phone and then a door closing, I had thought he was going somewhere for privacy but when he spoke it wasn't directed towards me.

"Now would you explain to me what the hell you were trying to do?" Vegas, I would recognize the voice in a sea of talking people.

"We are just following orders. You should have called before bringing her into the interrogation room."

"There was no reason to call, he should have been making a statement about the events that occurred early morning and that was all, there was no reason for him to have been beaten!" I wanted to talk but I was certain he wouldn't hear me with all the yelling going on, I debated hanging up but they were talking about Alpha I had to listen.

"There was a change in the original plan, Ditector McGee said there was evidence of him being part of the whole case and wanted us to get him to testify aswell!"

"Well did he?!?"

"No, but we were allowed to use any means necessary to brake him and get what we needed."

"And you think after 4 hours of being beaten half to death he still was hiding something? For heavens sake are you guys stupid? She clearly stated that she was doing this because he left her! She wouldn't have shot him if he was her partner in it."

There was a crash and silence for a few seconds before a door was again opend and closed this time a little more forcefully.

"Michelle, get me the Attorney General on the phone! And find me the files for the Nemesis case quickly."

Another door was slammed and then silence.

"What's wrong Lana? Are you ok?" Vegas asked catching me by surprise I was certain he had forgotten about me being on the phone but that wasn't the case.

"Yeah, Ally arrived with Alpha. What happend Vegas? What's going on?"

"I'm not sure Lana but I'm gonna try and fix what ever it is. Do me a favor, call Ruben. Give him my number tell him I need him to call as soon as possible yeah?" I hum at him letting him know I understand what he asked for but I wasnt quite certain I should bring Ruben into it.

"Lana, dont worry. Nothings gonna happen to your family I will fix this."
I want to belive him, I want to trust him but what has he done so far to make me feel like I can trust him? What experience do I have with him that will make me comfortable with allowing him to take the lead on this, let him fix it, not one. There is nothing that I can remember that will allow me to trust that he will indeed fix what ever is happening.

"Special Agent Gage, Attorney General Loyd on line 2 and here are the files you asked for."

"Thank you Michelle you may excuse yourself and please no interruptions."
