Hey ma, Trevor said while kissing Deloris cheek. How are you son? I'm ok, you? You know me, I won't complain. Who is this? This is Connor, we were sitting here discussing business. What kind of business? He wants to invest in the retirement home. Really? Yes, ive been looking for a home to put my grandmother in. I haven't been too lucky finding a good home for her. I ran across your parent's facility and I just fell in love with it. So, in love I wanted to invest. After hearing your mother's story and how it started. I just knew I had to help in some kind of way. That's why I called you over, Deloris said. I have some errands to run and I wanted you to talk more with him while im gone. You think you can handle that? Yes, I can handle it ma. Ok, it was good meeting you Connor. The same to you too Mrs. Owens. I will be in touch with you soon. Thank you for letting me be part of this. No, thank you.
I appreciate you wanting to help my moms, but we don't need the help. You sure? She told me how the business was struggling, Connor said. I told her years ago to just sell the place and put some money in her pocket. She didn't want to listen to me, Trevor said. This means more to her than having money in her pocket, Connor said. This was your dad's dream. She doesn't want to just sell it like that. What's the real reason you here? By looking at you, I can tell you not interested in no damn old ass retirement home. So, why you here? I am interested in the business. It's not too many retirement homes in this area that's affordable. Once I found out who owned the place, that's when something else came up. What? I wanted to set up a deal with you. I don't swing that way dawg, Trevor. Neither do I, Connor said while laughing. What kind of deal you talking about? I need some work done, some work that I know you're very capable of. Naw, im good. You sure? I know $10,000 can change anybody life, especially with the way economy is now days. $10,000? Yes, but you not interested in the deal. I can find somebody else that will be down for it. What kind of deal? Oh, now you interested. I just asked what kind of deal it is. I have a problem that I need eliminated. I've checked your background; I know this is isn't beneath you or anything you have done in the past. Who is it? Norris Lee, Connor said. That clown? You know him?
Yeah, we've had a run-in. Really, so you wouldn't have a problem with doing this then. None whatsoever, Trevor said. Good, I need it done ASAP. And I need that cash, ASAP. Half now, half when it's done. I can do that, Trevor said. Where can I find him? You can catch him leaving his office later. I think I know where it's at, Trevor said. Here is my number, contact me when it's done. So, why you want this done? I just want it done, Connor said. You don't look like the type of man that set up deals like this. Why, because im white? That too, Trevor said. You the type that gets a nigga like me to do his dirty work. By your neatly pressed suit, shinny shoes, and fancy car. You have too much to lose to do shit like this yourself. That's why you get somebody like me, somebody that don't have nothing to lose to do your dirty work. So, why you want this done? Just get it done, Connor said.
Norris, I found something. What you find? Vincent Bradley, he did do 18 years like you said. It's different reasons why he was released. Good behavior is one of them, not enough evidence to show he actually did it, and he got a damn good lawyer on his side. Him having that good lawyer is what really got him released, Steve said. Who is it? It's not disclosed, but whoever it is did they job pretty good. So, did he make a deal to get out? It doesn't look that way, but like I said before. Whoever got him out, is going to cover their tracks good enough to not get caught. His record is clean too. It's like the 18 years he served don't exist. Damn, Norris said. I never asked you before, who is this guy? I have child with his ex, he convinced her to move away so he could start his life over. She knows why he was in jail, so she moved out of fear. I needed something on him to make him go away. Well, his lawyer made it impossible for that to happen. So, it's nothing at all on him? Nothing whatsoever, Steve said. You get something on his parole officer? He don't have one, Steve said. What? Yeah, I looked into that already. He don't have a parole officer at all. So, that story of a parole officer setting him up with a job and money; that's some bullshit. He got some real connections and whoever it is set this up for him. It's no name you can give me? If I had something, you know ill give it to you. Damn, I need something on this dude. She can't just leave? Naw, she too scared to do that. I'm sure y'all can come up with some kind of plan, Steve said. I'll figure something out, thanks for your help. Just call me if you need anything, Steve said.
