Chapter Fourteen
Zamaria
Zamaria took a deep breath as she willed her body to stop shaking. She had to put on a brave face. Showing any kind of weakness was out of the question, it would only make things worse. She was back to being a slave to the game.
She held her head high and squared her shoulders. Sauntering into the living room to greet the rowdy bunch, her five-inch heels clicked against the hardwood floor.
"Hi boys." She greeted in a sultry voice. Never missing a step she kept walking until she was right by Diggy's side. He placed a hand on her bare thigh rubbing up and down.
There were four men today. Two sat across from Diggy on the sofa wearing basketball shorts and wife beaters. One would think they had just come from the court. Yet the lack of sweat on their bodies told Zamaria all she had to know. They came prepared. One had on a pair of blue shorts and a black shirt. His dirty blond hair falling across his face almost into his eyes. The other had a buzz cut with a white shirt and grey shorts.
Another guy, much more muscular than the other two, leaned against the far wall next to the hall she had just walked from. He wore dark wash jeans, and a white button up. A silver watch rested on his left wrist. He seemed more serious out of the bunch. Was he a body guard or was he here to play as well?
The fourth wore white jeans with a black and white graphic t-shirt, with a black hat on his head. He sat in the recliner next to Diggy. Boa, his right-hand man. If anyone was ready to play it was him.
"Well look what the cat dragged in." Boa said with a smug look on his face. He sat up in his seat eyes locked onto her body. "Long time no see Viper." He spat.
The name sent chills down Zamaria's spine and not the good kind either. The old name sent her stomach churning, and bile threatened to rise up and spill all on the clean floor. That wouldn't be a pretty sight to see. She shook the feeling off and just smiled at Boa. She wanted to correct him and tell him the name no longer stuck.
Yet she kept her mouth closed. They couldn't corrupt that part of her. It was the only piece she had left. The only lifeline she held onto. Red was her new identity. One away from Diggy, one that built herself back up and grew thicker skin. Red was the woman that pulled herself through the darkest of times and came out stronger. She found her best friend in all the madness. Viper was the lost girl Diggy broke into a million pieces. She was the girl that left home to run away from her problems only to get caught in deeper problems.
Zamaria couldn't be Red around them; it would destroy her if Diggy got his hands on her and ripped Red to shreds. She had to tuck that part of her life away just as she had to tuck away the memories of Greyson.
"What can I say, I missed home." She said sarcastically with a roll of her eyes. The tight grip around her wrist had her swallowing the rest of her words. It was a subtly move yet it spoke volumes.
"D where'd you get her from?" Muscles spoke up, openly fucking her with his eyes.
"She's one of my special girls. Slipped past my fingers a while ago, but now she's back." Diggy stared up at her with cold eyes daring her to say something. This time Zamaria couldn't keep the visible shiver at bay. She always hated that word coming from his lips, special.
"Oh word?" White pants chimed in.
Diggy held up a hand when he seen the excitement on everyone's faces. To be Diggy's Special Girl was never a good thing. Not for the woman at least. It meant only those in his inner circle could have their way, at no cost.
