Chapter Fifteen

Greyson

It was three in the morning and Greyson was fighting sleep. He sat in his car watching as people came in and out of her building. He felt like such a creep, just sitting here waiting. It's been a week since he talked to her. That was enough time, right? As he felt himself drifting back into dreamland, his ringing phone startled him awake.

"Talk to me." He sat up in his seat scanning the area once more. He wasn't even sure if he had already missed her or not. This would be the time she'd make it home if she were to stay late at Back Shots.

"We found another spot. It's on the edge of town, looks like a few o his men are there now. What do you want us to do?" Brandon asked. They had been scooping out a lot of Diggy's hangouts. The house Kane and Zero had found last week, is his main place.

They wanted to find all his spots and plan a mass attack. Diggy's men were moving in on a lot of his territory and thought they were going to get away with it. They were going to find out just what The Reaper could do.

"Good work. Let's stay on it. If he's anything like me he has at least two more. We just have to find them." Greyson said into the phone.

His heart began to race as he spotted the woman he had been waiting for. This would have been so much easier if he just went to the club and talked to her there. But he felt she would be better off having this conversation on her turf. He watched her like a hawk and noticed the slight limp she had in her step.

Her hair was down in thick waves covering her face, but a bad feeling had overcome and he was out the car in a flash.

"Bet. Hey, you good man? You been off lately?" Brandon asked concerned.

"Yeah man I'm good, just working non-stop, barely any sleep. Look I'll hit you up later. I think I found something." He didn't give Brandon time to respond as he quickly hung up, jogging across the street.

He silently followed her into the building and up the steps. She stopped just as she got to the top of the second floor. Her body visibly stiffened senses on high alert. With a quickness Greyson never seen before, she spun around connecting her fist with his face. The impact had his tumbling down the steps knocking the wind from his lungs.

He heard a muffled thump as she jumped down the few steps. "Fuck! Red it's me!" He shouted as her foot came crashing down onto his stomach. He was sure she bruised a rib or two.

Her blows didn't stop there as droplets of silent tears fell over him.

"ZaZa it's me!" He said a bit louder trying to stop her assault, but not wake the neighbors. The walls were thin he was sure of.

She stopped mid-swing staring down at him. The look in her eyes stopped his heart. There wasn't any emotion present behind her beautiful brown eyes. What hurts him, even more, were the bruises he found upon her face. Most of them were fading but that still didn't hide the fact Diggy was putting his hands on her.

Greyson quickly got up and held her face gently in his hands. He could see her breaking inside yet her eyes were dead.

"Who did this to you?" He whispered, feeling his own emotions building.

She turned away from him, stepping out of his arms. He watched her walk up the steps, and didn't know whether he should follow her up or not. It seemed like a good idea at first but now he wasn't so sure.
