Chapter Twenty-Eight

Zamaria

Darkness surrounded her and her body felt heavy. There was a dull throb in the back of her head as everything slowly came alive. Voices were muffled and confusion filled her mind. She wasn't sure what had happened or where she was at, but from the smell of wood and mothballs, she knew she wasn't at the house anymore.

Rolling over on her side, Zamaria let out a low groan. When she opened her eyes the dim lighting in the room confirmed her thoughts; she wasn't in the house.

"Hey take it easy." A soft voice spoke. A hand, held her steady as she slowly sat up on what she found to be a couch. A cool breeze blew across her bare skin alerting her to the lack of clothing that covered her naked body.

Gripping the thin sheet that fell around her waist, she looked around the room finding various men patching each other up as others wiped down guns. Turning to her left she found a familiar face smiling down at her. She couldn't remember his name, but she knew he was one of Greyson's men. The guy who had just been initiated.

"Where am I?" She whispered, tightening the sheet around her.

"Boss!" he shouted waving someone over. "She's awake!" He took off his jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders to provide a little more coverage. "Hey, you're good. We brought you to the warehouse. Bossman should be on his way."

"Thanks, Kane I got it from here."

Kane. That was his name. Stepping into view was Brandon. If he was Boss then she could only guess Bossman was Greyson.

"B what's going on?" At the question, memories of what had transpired just hours ago flooded her mind, increasing the pressure of her headache.

She had been entertaining the twins, Joey and Kellen when all hell broke loose. They had just finished and pulled their pants up when the bedroom door was kicked in and two shots rang out. The sounds being so close to her ear she couldn't make out the shouting voice in front of her. They roughly grabbed her from the bed as she pulled the thin sheet along with her.

Once her hearing returned to normal, she stared at the guy as he pulled her from the room. She found a few guys walking around shouting the fox is in the den. It was the same line Greyson said to her before he hung up. It was a code to let her know he was coming for her.

When they reached the steps and gained sight of Brandon it all went black as she went tumbling down the steps.

"A few of the girls from the house nearly trampled you, and knocked you down the steps," Brandon answered taking the seat Kane had just left vacant. "You passed out once you reached the bottom. I couldn't get to you in time. Luckily, you're only suffering from a sprained wrist and a bruised rib."

"Where's Reaper?" She looked around the room only to confirm that he was in fact not there.

"He's on the way. They just got finished with Diggy. You're free now."

So many emotions flowed through her, she wasn't sure what to hold onto first. Relief she was finally free from the clutches of the devil himself. Fear that whatever this was, wasn't over just yet. Happy that for once in her life, she may actually have a chance to live a normal life.

Zamaria was pulled from her thoughts at the sound of Brandon's phone ringing.

"Bossman on go!" He greeted. Whatever was said on the other end had him shooting from his seat like his ass was on fire. He threw the phone on the couch next to Zamaria and rushed towards the exit.
