Chapter 2
Labor day had just passed, and I was bubbling with excitement to start school. As usual I was running late, and blaming the stupid alarm. I had time only to grab an apple and a slice of toast with butter. As I stepped outside I saw Caleb leaning on the front porch waiting for me. As he saw me a shy smile creeped unto his face, I said a quick hi and gave him a hug, as I motioned for him to start walking. We didn't live too far away from school, only a few blocks. Which is why the first period teacher always got annoyed when I arrived in her classroom late. In global we discussed the Renaisance the rebirth of learning and the arts. The teacher asked a question about the artists around that period. Like always she ignored my hand and picked someone else. Just as she called on the other person that raised their hand, a new girl walked in. As I looked up I saw her face, how could I ever forget that face.
