Chapter 9
The next morning, I woke to the most bothersome, hair- pulling migraine. It was horrible. It felt like some took some drums and decided to make music, by banging it on my head. While, I was searching my house for motrin, I remembered what had happened last night. I felt so betrayed, stupid, and mad at my self for trusting him. I guess I should have known that people don't usually have study dates at 9:00 pm, especially on weekends. For the entire morning I was in a horrible mood. I guess I wasn't very good at hiding it, because soon after I started moping around the house, my mom called me to have a chat with her. You see I would normally avoid her chats, but at the moment I thought to myself maybe this won't be so bad. I was completely wrong, it was torture. Did you ever get one of these lectures from your parents, that were so long and boring? Well imagine that times 100. She started off telling me how I was a good kid ( typical move for a parent) , then she continued talking to me about stuff( I zoned out after the first two sentences). Just when I thought I would need to have one of my "bathroom breaks". The phone rang almost on cue. Saved by the phone, I said to myself. As I was on my way upstairs my mom yelled, "The phone is for you, honey."I rang upstairs to get it in my room. "Thanks mom ." I yelled from upstairs".
"Hey, love how was the study date?" Chloe asked. "Well, to begin it wasn't a study date, it was a party. Second of all, the guys tried to sexually assault me. But the most frustrating about it, was that my crush, Aaron did nothing to help me. He was just standing while they treating me like trash !" I yelled. "I'm so sorry", she said. Its okay, I did met a really cute guy, who took me home, though. "Well I guess going to the party, was not all such a bummer ." she said. "I guess not, I have to go though, we will talk later, I promise bye." I said before hanging up.
After what felt like a hour long conversation, I felt so much better. Of course I still wanted to punch Aaron, for the inconsiderate jerk he was, but at least now I could eat. I was pouring out some cheerios, when my mom called out to me, and said I had to watch my sister while she went to work. I was about to argue with her, but before I knew it she had already left the house. It was Sunday, and I was stuck in the house babysitting my seven- year- old sister Kaylie. Besides her occasional biting, and the fact that she loved to throw temper tantrums, Kaylie wasn't that bad. Oh my gosh, I thought as I remembered that there was going to be a talent show. I was so busy, that I had let it completely slip my mind. I pulled the poster and read the date, which said this week Friday. I started to dial Lea's number when the bell rang. 'Who is it" I yelled, to lazy to look through the peep hole. "It's me Caleb, your best friend".
