Chapter 15
During the first week that I was being held captive in the hospital, my friends and family members or at least the people who claimed they were visited me everyday. Christine and Dave, I mean my parents came everyday, bringing family photos of me, to help jog my memory. Some of which I saw Caleb in. According to the photos, Caleb was not only my friend, he was family. Speaking of Caleb, he also was present every evening - we talked, we laughed, we cryed (by we I mean mostly he). They weren't the only one that came, Lea and Chloe also came. Most people came and talked to me. Chloe, however decided to pray. At first it was kind of wierd, I mean the child grabbed my hands and started to mumble for a good 10 minutes. But after seeing how shaken up I was, she explained to me how she was a christian and well she made things seem a little less wierd. After what felt like a mini prayer service, she left along with Lea. Next came the brothers. Leone walked in then Aaron. Not too long after Leone came, stepped out to take a phone call, leaving me and Aaron alone. "Hey, how have you been doing lately?" He asked. "Great I guess !" I said yawning afterwards. "Can I ask you question?"I asked. "Sure, I don't see why not." He responded cheerfully. "Before the accident, did Leone talk about me a lot?" I asked, searching his face to see his reaction. "Um no, not really, maybe one or two times, but very rarely if at all." He said causally. So, wait, I'm his girlfriend and he rarely spoke about me. "You guys aren't dating anymore, though, he told me he was breaking with you before the accident." He cautiously. I guess he thought I might burst out crying. "Oh, really thats funny, because he told me we were- "So what are you guys talking about, he said cutting me off. "Nothing much, just about school." I lied. "O ok , sorry Anna I have to go, mom just called she wants me home." He said as he headed out the door after he kissed me on my cheek. "Its alright I'll see you tomorrow." Waving to them as they left. As they approached the hallway I heard a glimpse of their conversation. "What you mean mom called, mom working late today?" Aaron questioned." I know I just needed an excuse to leave, Mia wants to see me at her house." He responded. "But what"- the rest of the words faded as they walked down the hallway and into the elevator. I knew that Leone was lying to me, but I decided to play along just a little longer, until I figured out a plan. A real good plan.
*The Next Morning.
Morning Doctor. " Morning Annabelle, how are you feeling" He asked, taking my temperature. "I guess okay, I just have a headache" I responded. "Your parents are in the waiting room, can they come in ?" He asked, this time reaching for a bottle of water to give me . "Okay send them in. I have something important to tell them. Something I know they'll be dying to hear."
