It had been nearly three weeks since Liana had decided her and Maurice both needed a break from Chris. She sent Chris a text message saying that she was going away for a few days, packed her shit, and went to a hotel.
A few days ended up turning into a few weeks and Chris was growing more and more agitated by the hour. Alex covered for Liana by not telling Chris where she was at. Chris didn’t like that at all and actually thought about breaking his jaw a few times but reconsidered when he came to the conclusion that it’ll make shit worse. “Mommy!” Maurice yelled walking into the room with his arms folded.
“What?” Liana asked.
“I want daddy.”
Liana rolled her eyes, looking at TJ. “Don’t look at me, I told you this wasn’t a good idea.”
“Did you tell him anything?” Liana asked, standing up from the bed.
“No. he doesn’t even know I know where you’re at. But you could at least let him see his son.” TJ shook his head, looking over at Maurice who was sitting at the edge of the bed staring at them both.
“I’m trying to do what’s best for him.” Liana defended herself, throwing her hands up.
“You act like keeping him away from Chris is going to make him behave differently. The nigga is just bad. It’s in his blood. If anything, you making it worse, he listens to Chris, he doesn’t listen to you.”
Liana rolled her eyes again, sighing and looking at Maurice. “Mommy I want daddy! I wanna go home. This is boring. Forget this.” Maurice stomped his foot on the ground and Liana just shook her head.
“How about you let me take him to go see Chris, then, bring him back tomorrow?” TJ suggested, getting up from the bed and going over to Maurice. He picked him up and bounced him on his hip. “You wanna go see your daddy?” TJ asked.
“Yes! Mommy pleeeeeeeeeeeease?” Maurice begged, poking his lip out. Liana grinned, walking over and kissing his cheek.
“Fine, go get dress.” Maurice jumped down from TJ’s arms and ran into the other room. “You better bring him back and don’t tell Chris shit!” Liana demanded staring at TJ. He smiled and pulled her into a hug.
“Shut up sis.” About half hour later they were in the car on their way to Chris’ house. Maurice could barely stay still in his seat. “We’re almost there.” TJ chuckled.
“I can’t wait to see daddy. Mommy mean.” Maurice mumbled.
“Mommy not mean, yo ass just bad.”
Maurice shook his head. “Shut up punk. I ain’t bad.”
“You’re the only five year old I know that can curse fluently.” TJ laughed, shaking his head as he remembered when Maurice was playing the game; Maurice got mad because the game was “cheating”, so he threw the controller at the wall and called the TV all types of bitch ass nigga’s.
They pulled up in the drive-way and before TJ could completely stop, Maurice jumped out the car. He sprinted to the door, banging on it hard with his tiny hands. Chris was caught by surprise when he opened the door. “Daaaaaaddy!” Maurice yelled, wrapping his arms around Chris’ legs. Chris smiled, picking him up and kissing him. Maurice laid his head on Chris’ shoulder. “I missed you daddy.”
“I missed you too lil nigga.” Chris said rubbing his back. “Where’s mommy?”
“She at the hotel still. Uncle TJ dropped me off.” Chris nodded, walking into the living room. He sat down on the couch and kept Maurice in his arms. “I missed you.” Maurice whined, gripping Chris tighter. “I don’t wanna go back to mommy. I wanna stay with you.”
