"I want mommy." Maurice whined, throwing the controller down on the couch and leaning his head on Chris. Chris frowned, pausing the game. It had been two weeks since their argument and Chris been at TJ's crib ever since.
At this point, he was fed up with Liana. He loved her to death, but his patience for her bullshit was running real low and he wasn't sure how much more of it he could take. "I miss her too." Chris admitted, sighing and running his hands over her face.
"Why can't we go see her then?"
"Mommy needs time to herself right now." Chris said. When Maurice rolled his eyes and folded his arms; Chris ran his fingers through Maurice's little afro. Maurice wasn't dumb; he knew his mommy and daddy were arguing. He also knew every time it was a big argument; they weren't around each other for a while. He hated it, but there was nothing he could do.
"Bro," TJ called, when Chris looked over at him, he nodded his head towards the stairs, gesturing that they needed to talk. Chris got up and walked over to the stairs. "Lil man, go get dressed." TJ told Maurice before following behind Chris.
"Why you tell him to get dressed?" Chris asked.
"Because, you're taking him to go see Liana."
"Man, I don't wanna see that bitch TJ!" Chris shouted, shaking his head.
TJ frowned. "The fuck you mean man?! It's not about you! It's not about her and honestly, fuck whatever y'all going through. You have a five year old son out there practically about to break down cause he miss his mom and all you got to say is I don't want to see that bitch? You sound selfish. I really wish y'all would grow the fuck up and stop putting y'all kid in the middle of y'all bullshit!" TJ snapped, slamming his hand against the desk.
Chris clenched his jaw. He knew TJ was right, but he was too mad to accept it. "You don't understand man."
"I know you're hurt man, I know. But still, you can't make him suffer because of y'all issues."
"Whatever," Chris shrugged, walking out of the room. "come on Maurice."Maurice came out the room with a kool-aid grin on his face. He was excited to see his mother. "Hold up," Chris mumbled when they got to the front door. "go get a sweater, it's cold outside and the last thing I need is for you to get sick."
"I don't want one..." Maurice objected in a whiney tone.
Chris raised his eyebrow and Maurice reluctantly went to go get him a sweater. Chris walked out to his Bentley, unlocking the doors. He got in and started the car while waiting for Maurice to come out.

"Knock harder," Chris mumbled. They had been standing outside Liana's hotel room for about five minutes, knocking and got no answer. Chris knew she was there, cause he seen her car parked downstairs. He just prayed she didn't have a nigga up in there because he was going to fuck somebody up. "kick the door." Chris said, chuckling when Maurice started to kick the door.
"I'm fucking coming!" Liana screamed. She opened the door in her robe, the annoyance that was expressed across her face changed to shock. She pulled Maurice into a hug, squeezing him tight.
"I missed you mommy." Maurice said, holding her.
"I missed you too." She looked up at Chris and rolled her eyes before moving out the way to let them in. Maurice ran straight over to couch and sat down, grabbing the bowl of popcorn that was on the table and shoved a handful in his mouth. Liana giggled, sitting next to him. "Hey, that's mine!"
"Sharing is caring." He said with a mouthful of popcorn.
She laughed and looked around the living room, noticing Chris was no longer standing there. "I'll be right back." She went into the room and seen Chris sitting on the bed. They made eye contact for a split second but she broke it immediately, shyly taking a seat next to him. It was awkwardly silent for a few minutes before Liana decided to just speak."Chris, I'm sorry. I kn-" Liana began but Chris put his hand up, stopping her.
"Save it. I honestly don't give a fuck!" Chris spat, getting up to walk out but she grabbed his arm, stopping him.
"If you don't care, why are you here Chris?"
"Because Maurice wanted you..."
"Okay and? Why are you still here Chris? You could've dropped him off, but instead you stayed." Liana said with tears in her eyes. Chris just looked down at her, she was right, he did care and he wanted so badly to just wrap his arms around her body, but he was too mad, too tired."Chris, I fucking apologized. What else do you want me to do? I regret what I did. You know I do." She leaned against his body and he let her. "I'm sorry for cheating on you but I felt like you didn't give a fuck. The way you were talking to me plus how much pain I was already in. I couldn't take it."
"Fuck the cheating part, why you put my baby in danger Liana?"
"I wasn't thinking straight. My mind was all over the place. I was at the bar, crying, and a dude offered me a drink. I figured one drink wouldn't hurt, but one turned into about six and before you knew it; I was all over the place." Liana looked down at the floor. She was ashamed with herself, ashamed that her actions could have cost the life of her baby. Her mind couldn't grasp the idea before she was running into the bathroom, throwing up her lunch. When she went back into the room, Chris was sitting on the bed; he gave her a once over and motioned for her to come here. He didn't speak, he just wrapped his arms around her and she did the same, resting her head against his neck. "We used to be Bonnie and Clyde. Nothing could break us. We argued, but nothing like we do now. Everything's so messed up. I miss the way we used to be babe. I really do."
"We're gonna be okay," Chris mumbled, giving her lips a soft kiss. "you hear me?" She nodded her head and he kissed her again. His hands traveled down to her legs. "What you wearing underneath this robe?"
"Nothing..."
"Don't be coming to the door like this." Chris gritted, slapping her thigh hard.
Liana smiled. "Shut up! I just got in the shower."
"Mhm, watch out, I gotta piss." Chris said moving Liana out the way and going into the bathroom. As soon as he closed the door, his phone vibrated on the bed. Liana looked over at it, picking it up. The screen read 1 new message and she clicked on it.

Baby I'm at the airport. Hurry up and come get me.
Her stomach immediately began to churn. She slipped on some clothes and grabbed her keys off the night stand. "Maurice, I'll be back." Liana said, walking out the door.
She ran out the building and got into her car. She couldn't think straight as tears rushed down her cheeks. She pulled out the parking lot and into the street. She sped down it, going seventy mph in a thirty mph lane; swerving around cars. It wasn't until she seen someone up ahead on a bike that she began stomping on the brakes and trying to move out the way at the same time. Another car tried to stop but couldn't in time and hit Liana from the side.
Liana's car immediately began to flip.
