The next day, when they arrived at Alex's house, Liana felt all the emotions she felt when those guys kidnapped her. She didn't want to be in California anymore. She gripped the door handle when Chris parked in the driveway and her face flushed pale. Chris frowned as he looked at her. "Liana, it's gonna be okay."

"I'm so scared..." she whispered as tears sprung in her eyes.

"Baby," Chris shook his head, sighing. "I'm not gonna let anything happen to you, I promise."

"What if they get to you before they get to me?" she said, gasping as her heart pounded in her chest. "Chris, I'm so scared!" she covered her face as she began to cry out loudly and her body trembled. "I don't wanna die!"

"Liana, nobody is gonna fucking die!" he spat, pushing the car door open and going around to her side, pulling the door open and tugging her up into his arms. "Baby, you gotta stop working yourself into these frenzies and shit; everything will be okay, okay?"

"You—don't—know—that!" she said, as she sniffed and looked up at him.

Chris frowned at her bloodshot, puffy eyes and held her closer as her body shook against his. "Fuck, Li..." he mumbled, biting his lip and scooping her up in his arms as he carried her in Alex's house.

Liana hid her face against his shirt and tried to relax as best as she could. She heard Chris asked someone where Alex was and then they were moving through the house again. When Liana finally did look up, they were going in Alex's office. "Chris?" Alex asked, frowning. "What are you doing here?"

Chris sighed and sat Liana down in a chair, walking up to Alex's desk and frowned at him. "They found us in Florida."

"What? How you know?"

"Because, some nigga was following us all fucking day and we were in the store and Liana said he kept looking at her, so I kicked his ass."

"You were only gone a day, and you decide to drag her back into this shit?!" Alex yelled, shaking his head.

"Did you not just hear what I said?! It don't matter where we fucking go, Alex!" Chris yelled back, gripping the edge of the desk. "The motherfucker wants his money so give him the fucking money and keep it the fuck moving! What is so fucking hard about that?!"

"It's not that simple."

Chris huffed and pulled a wad of money out his pocket and threw it at Alex. "I just made it fucking simple. I swear to God Alex if you let anything happen to her, I'm coming for your ass." He turned around and left out without looking at Liana.

The room grew silent as Alex stared at Liana and Liana stared at her hands. "You can go clean yourself up and relax in your old room; I'll tell everyone to keep it down." Nodding, Liana got up and pushed her hair back as she wiped her eyes. "Li," Alex called out before she left out. "I love you, and I promise I'll keep you safe. You're all I have, and I mean that, okay?"

"I love you too, dad." She said quietly before leaving out.

Liana was fast asleep and woke when she felt someone touch her. She shrieked and jumped and quickly calmed down when she saw it was Chris. "I'm sorry. You were about to roll off the bed."

"Where did you go?" she rubbed her eyes and checked the time, it was going on nine at night; he had been gone for seven hours.

"I had to handle something." He said, kicking his shoes off and climbing in bed with her. "You okay baby?"
