The First Call

Are you ready?

Four days passed since Daisy's birthday and I haven't really talked with Andrew about what he said the other day.

Anyway, tomorrow is Nina's birthday and we're already preparing everything. The party will be at Andrew's and my place. It's not going to be a big party but I'm sure it'll be fun. Caleb told us that he needs Andrew's and mine help with Nina's present.

"Ok, I'm in," I said once Caleb told us the plan.

"You know you can count on me mate," Andrew said.

"Thank you guys," Caleb said and hugged us both.

Now, almost everything was ready, we only missed snacks and cake. Daisy was in charge for cake since she knew Nina better than anyone else.

"Drew!" I yelled from my room.

A few moments later he was in my room. "Ya?" He asked sitting next to me.

I smiled slightly. "Wanna come with me to Target to buy some snacks for tomorrow?"

"Yea, of course. Let me grab my camera quickly."

"What?! Noo! You know I hate being filmed!" I moaned standing up.

"Come on! Please! For me." And just a moment later he had a puppy face on.

I couldn't help it but laugh. "Ugh! Fine! I'll do it..." I said not so willing to do it.

"Yes! You're the best!" Drew said and gave me quick hug and then went to get his camera.

"I know!" I yelled after him laughing.

When we got to Target Andrew pulled his camera out.

"What's poppin' guys welcome back to another video. Here we are with Ashley," he said.

"What's up guys," I said a bit shy.

"So basically, we're in Target and we're about to buy some snacks for our best friend's birthday party."

I just stood behind Drew trying not to be in the frame. When he saw it he laughed and stepped away. I immediately felt my cheeks turn red and I moved behind him hugging him so that he couldn't move. He filmed that and laughed and then stopped recording.

"I told you I didn't want this." I laughed breaking the hug and facing Drew.

"But eventually you accepted it," he said still laughing a bit.

"Well I've changed my mind."

"No, no. You can't do that."

"Well I can."

He was quiet for a moment. "What if I buy you Oreos and chocolate milk?"

"We have a deal." I immediately said.

I don't know why but I always had a thing for Oreos and chocolate milk.

"You see," Andrew said and smiled.

We took everything we need for the party, filmed some more clips for the video and headed to the cash register.

I took my credit card out and was about to pay but Andrew stopped me. "What are you doing?" I asked trying to give my card to cashier.

"You won't pay, I'm paying. Nina is my friend as well."

"Don't make a scene, please. Just let me pay. You can pay for my Oreos."

"Ashley please. You worked your ass off to plan and organise everything. This is the least I can do." He was holding me behind his back and gave his card to cashier.

She looked at me asking for my permission. "Take his," I said rolling my eyes with a small smile.

"You two seem like a great couple," she said giving Andrew back his card.

"Thank you." He smiled at her and took the bags.

"You happy now?" I asked once we were out of the store.

"Because I payed or because she thinks we're a couple?" He smirked.

"You know what I meant."

"Yea, of course I am."

When we got to our apartment everyone was there. We filled bowls with snacks and waited for Nina. It was 24th February, 11:49pm. We planned on celebrating her birthday from midnight till the sun goes up.

Caleb was nervous so I went over to him. "You ready?" I asked him giving him a hug.

"I don't know." He answered hugging me back.

And there it was, the door bell rang.
