The First Call

Misunderstanding

"Oh man, that's messed up," Ben said once I have finished.

"I know... And what's more, everything is my fault." I looked at Ben. "What–"

"It's not your fault, Andrew messed up. Ok? I know he is my best friend, but so are you. Actually, you are like a sister to me. Of course I will stand by your side."

"Ben, I really appreciate that, but you don't have to be on my side just because we've known each other since we were kids," I said. "It's fine, really."

"Look, I really think it's Andrew's fault. He's the one who didn't follow the rules. Not you. Ok?" I nodded. "So don't blame all of this on yourself. Yes, of course there are some things that you did mess up, but it all started from Drew." Ben took my hand. "I understand if you're mad or–"

"I'm not, I'm really not. I'm just so confused."

"Do you know what you want to do? Talk to him or not?"

"I want to talk to him. Yes. I do."

"That's good."

"But I don't know what to say."

"You don't have to say anything. I'm sure he will understand."

"But you just said that it's good to talk to him."

"It is, of course. But, if you don't know how to start the conversation, just sit next to him, look him in the eyes, and he will understand everything, trust me."

"Wow Bean, you sound like your mom." I giggled.

"Yeah, I know. I don't know what has gotten into me." He laughed. "But for real now, go to his room and try talking to him. If that doesn't work out, look at him." He stopped for a second. "Ok that sounds stupid, but you know what I wanted to say."

"Yeah, I do. Thank you Bean, I appreciate it, really."

"Don't thank me, just go and do what I've said!" He laughed and pushed me towards the door.

"Ok, ok, I'm going, chill!" I laughed too.

When I got into the living room, I saw Andrew sitting on couch. Brent was sitting next to him. They were talking. Ava was next to Brent. I asked her where Caleb, Nina and Daisy were. She said they had gone home after Nina and Caleb had a fight. Also Daisy slapped Caleb so now they aren't talking as well.

"Great," I said and rolled my eyes. "When did they leave?" I looked at Ava.

"Ten minutes ago." I heard, but it wasn't Ava, it was Andrew. I looked at him. He stood up and came closer to me and pulled me into a hug. "Can you come to my room?" I nodded.

In that moment, Ben came to the living room. Until then he was on phone, I think he was talking to Caleb.

Andrew and I went to his room. He apologized for his behaviour. He explained that he didn't mean to react like that. He said that he has already been through similar situation when his ex girlfriend broke up with him. He explained that he didn't like me, but I reminded him of his ex and that's why he acted like that all night. He said that he called Caleb and told him everything. Then Caleb called Nina and apologized to her and Daisy.

"I get it, it's fine, I'm sorry I put you in this situation," I said hugging him.

"So we're good now?" He asked hugging back.

I nodded, still in his hug.
