One month later
I was studying for the last exam I had this semester. It was the most important one and I really put my soul in it. Ava came over to help me go through the most important questions.
Once we finished, we went out for a walk.
"How are you?" She asked.
I looked at her. "Um, I'm a bit stressed. This exam is really important to me and I-"
Ava cut me off. "I mean with Andrew. How are you?"
I felt shiverers going down my spine as she mentioned his name. "I'm... I'm trying not to think about him..."
"Is it working?" She asked taking my hand.
We stopped walking and set on the nearest bench. "Yeah, yeah. I'm - I'm doing just fine. Everything - everything is great." My voice trembled.
Ava put her arm around my shoulder. "Honey, talk to me. Be honest, please. You know I can tell when something's wrong."
I sighed. "I know, I know. But, I'm not capable of talking about him. It's really hard to."
"I know, and that is fine. We all go through hard times in our lives. It's all about the way we deal with it."
We kept talking for a while. I told her how I felt about Andrew.
"I really miss him," I finally said.
"I know you do. Don't you think he misses you too?"
"I don't know anymore..." I made a pause. "It's just that, every day since I met him last time, I have that strange feeling, I don't know how to explain it. It's combination of sadness, missing and fear. It reminds me of nostalgia the most, but it's not only that. It's a whole bunch of other feelings."
"Do you, maybe, want to try talking to him again?"
"Maybe... Last time he said he missed me and that he still loved me, but I don't know if that changed."
"I've never seen you more sad than now. And the only thing, person, in fact, that can help you is Andrew, and Andrew only. Ash, you have to find him and make things clear, one last time."
"You're right." All of a sudden I felt extremely confident.
I took my phone and texted Andrew.
Are you down for a talk? I sent.
Just a couple of minutes later he replied: I'll be waiting in the apartment
I showed Ava Andrew's message. We both smiled.
"Go get ready," she said.
I thanked her about 10 times and left.
I face timed Daisy and Nina and let them know what am I about to do.
"You go girl," Nina said.
"Call us if you need anything," Daisy said.
We ended the call.
When I got ready, I first went to Target to get some things. As Target was across of the building where Andrew's apartment was, I got really nervous.
I was in candy aisle looking for Sour Patch Kids. I found them, but there was just one more bag left. I was about to take it but someone was faster then me.
I looked up. I was a bit shocked when I saw him.
"An - Andrew," I said.
"Uh, hi."
