Thousands of years ago, or was it millions, WuJi was not sure which, but the fact was, that WuJi was a baby dragon. His body was blue. And light blue freckles were sprinkled all over his cheeks, knees, and paws. An oval blue emerald sat right in the middle of his forehead. He was short. Like really short. In fact, he was the shortest one in his class... well that was when he used to go to class. That was also when he had a family.

Back to his height, even while standing on tips of his toes, he could barely reach an average grown man's hips. He had measured himself, after all.
Age was just a number to WuJi. The truth was, that he had stopped growing, the day he had separated from his parents.

What WuJi also had difficulty remembering was, why was a baby dragon chosen to guard the gateway between the human and magical realm!
'Isn't that something an adult is expected to do!?' He had thought multiple times over the years.

Moving on to his home, the tree that he was currently residing in, was not his first home by any means. But don't ask him about it. He didn't like to talk about his previous homes. He also didn't like it when people took sharp objects and poked his home. Or, burnt it with small objects, barely as long as his fingers.
"Stinky cigget! Dum dum human!" He said, every time a human smoked under the shade of his tree.

WuJi was a water dragon...He still is one. That is what he knew for sure. It's just that, he doesn't remember much else about his kind. Over the years, WuJi had forgotten almost everything about his kind. Luckily, all WuJi needed to survive, was a fresh fish, grilled over the fire every second day.
Unfortunately, that meant that he had to go fishing every second day.

Why? Because his home didn't have a fridge.

In his recent late-night fishing expeditions, WuJi had recently started to come across, strange-looking devices. Humans called it, "Refrigerator."
But WuJi called it, "Rfferer."

Why? Because that is what he thought, the humans were calling it.

WuJi had often thought whether things would have been any different if he would have not gone swimming with his parents so long ago.

If he would not have gone and accidentally kicked it, the Cracken would not have come out of its deep slumber and his mommy would not have hidden him behind a rock.

WuJi remembers his mother's words, but he doesn't remember where and when he had heard them, "Stay safe. One day, someone will come to you and call you by your name. That person will be able to read the instructions in the book of answers and help you find your way back home."

WuJi also remembers, how she had then taken out the blue emerald from her forehead and placed it on his.

Out of everyone, it was his mother, that the baby dragon missed the most. After all, he was a good baby dragon and, he was his mother's favourite.

It's the beginning of summer. Summers for WuJi are always terrible. No, please don't get him wrong, he has nothing against summer. It's just that, the summer brought with it, kids. Cruel and naughty kids. These kids, they kicked his house and carved on it too. Apart from that, there was always constant noise, screaming, yelling, shouting, and crying....of course, there were the occasional smiles, laughs and giggles too. But they were far too few. Most of the kids that come to this Resort Hotel are naughty. They never do what they are told. Which results in more shouting and yelling.

That is why WuJi hates summer.

So, it comes as a bit of a surprise to WuJi, when little Meara comes near his house and observes it. She touches it gently as if asking for permission to play with it.

What is more surprising is that she can read what WuJi has written on every branch of his home.
Yes, WuJi has indeed written his name on the branches.

Now you may wonder, as to why should that come as a surprise to WuJi?

Well it's simple, WuJi has written his name, but it's in ancient Dragon language. A language, completely unknown to humans.
