WuJi has never seen a human child so close. He tilts his head slightly and observes Meara with his big emerald eyes.
Meara too has never seen a dragon.
I am pretty sure, you haven't either, have you?
WuJi blinks and rubs his eyes as if making sure that Meara, the human child he has been waiting to meet, is really in front of him.
In his excitement to take a closer look, he almost leans outside the window.
"Ouchieeee!" He yelps when his forehead hits the translucent barrier separating the outside world, and his home.
"Oh!" Meara exclaims, and takes a step back, "Are you okay?" she asks sympathetically.
WuJi rubs his forehead with his stubby fingers, "My apologies, WuJi was careless."
"No need to apologize, WuJi. It happens." The child says, and adds hesitantly, "Does it hurt a lot? Should I come back later?"
"No. No. No." WuJi says, shaking his head vigorously. "See, I am fine. It's just a little ouchie. I hurt myself almost every day." He blurts out and then shuts up. 'Oh. Oooh. Why did I say that... tupid WuJi!?' The baby dragon reprimands himself.
He looks up at Meara's worried face and his chest feels strange, 'Mommy used to look at me like that when I used to get Ouchies.' The baby dragon remembers.
"WuJi, here is the book," Meara says, removing the book from under her shirt.
"WuJi can't step out today...hmmm, can Meara come into Darakt?" He asks, scratching his head.
'Please say yes... Please say yes... Please say yes.' WuJi pleads internally.
"Yes, I would love to come in, WuJi," Meara answers, making WuJi smile. He chants a spell which makes the barrier melt and the window expand.
Meara's eyes widen at the magical things happening in front of her, and she observes everything enthusiastically.
Once the window stops expanding, WuJi takes a step back and bows respectfully, "Wellcome to my hulumbe* home. His name is Darakt."
Meara bows and enters Darakt. She looks around and asks, "Hulumbe?"
"It's small and just has bare necessities. Mother used to say that a home devoid of luxuries is Hulumbe." WuJi answers, gesturing Meara to sit on the only chair in the small home.
Meara walks to the chair, looking back at the window cum door as it contracts. She sits on the chair, while WuJi sits on the bed.
"Do you mean humble?" She asks.
"Ohhhh... Oh yes, that was the word. Hehe." WuJi giggles, and accidentally lets out a snort.
Suddenly feeling embarrassed, he hides his face behind his hands.
"It's okay, WuJi. I do it too. Appa says that it's a sign that shows that we are truly excited or happy, and that is not something we should feel embarrassed about."
The baby dragon peeks from behind his hands, and asks, "Really?"
"Mn." Meara nods, and hands over the Book of answers to WuJi.
WuJi takes the book and thanks Meara. But before he can open the book, LongMu once again appears on the book cover.
"Mommy!" WuJi exclaims and holds the book to his chest.
Someone clears their throat. It's LongMu.
WuJi looks at the cover of the book, and LongMu smiles.
