Saturday morning came by in the blink of an eye.If I had something exciting to do, I bet the week would be droning on as if Saturday would never come.
I turned off my alarm and sat up in bed. It was 8:00. I had taken a personal day today, to deal with business, so the twins were already off to work, meaning I was here alone.
I was to meet with Anthony at 9:30, just then my phone buzzed, indicating I had a text message.
Cassie:- Morning sunshine, make sure you're on time and dont you dare chicken out of this.
I rolled my eyes and pressed the button for my screen to close.
I swung my feet off the side of the bed and sat there contemplating whether I should go through with this or not.
"Better start getting ready" I said to myself after 15 minutes of just sitting there.
First I took a shower and washed my hair. Afterwards I blow dried it and brushed it before putting it into a sideways ponytail.
I put on underwear then started rummaging through my box for something to wear.
I settled on a pair of dark wash jeans, a loose white blouse and my sandals. Simple, nothing too extra, plus the weather was nice out today.
I sprayed on some perfume and took up my keys and my cellphone before leaving the apartment.
Along the way I saw Mr. Shelton talking to a woman who lived on the same floor as I did.
Her face was pale, and she face palmed. I assumed he was giving her the sad news. I gave a tight lipped smile and a nod as I passed by the two.
I entered the elevator and gave myself a pep talk, trying to convince myself to not back out of this. Using the scene I saw earlier as a boost for not turning back.
I exit unto the main floor and then went out to the parking lot. I saw Anthony standing by his SUV and smiled at him.
He returned the gesture.
"Goodmorning, ready to go?" he asked.
"I dont know where we're going but I guess I am" I replied.
He chuckled at this and opened my door for me and closed it as I settled in.
He rounded the vehicle and got into the driver's seat.
"So Elly, today we'll just be going over the paper work and all that and if we have enough time left, we could possibly make a stop at the doctor's office. Sound good?" he drove in the direction of uptown.
"Sounds good, may I ask where we are going at the moment?" I asked.
"Well my lawyer is waiting at my house, if you dont want to go there I could ask him to meet us someplace else" he said, glancing at me unsure.
"No that's fine. Will Ruth be there?" I asked, not able to keep in my curiosity.
"No, she is out of town. I would much prefer if she had minimal say in this agreement. I know she is the one who proposed it to you but I would like to take over, if that's ok with you?" he spoke.
I let out a breath of relief, for what reason I was unsure. Maybe it's the thought of not having to deal with the wife of the man who's baby I'm going to be having, even though this was a business arrangement. Strictly business.
