Chapter 33

      "Ruth what the hell are you doing here?" Anthony asks.

    I step aside so I was now standing beside him. Estelle approached us and Cassie as well, so it was now the four of us facing Ruth.

    "Well I just came to give the happy couple my congratulations but I was in for a shocker, two shockers at that. Firstly I'm sorry I only brought on gift, I didn't know you were expecting twins" she said but she said the word twins so bitterly.

    She handed a box to Anthony and he dropped it to the floor. "That's ok Ruth, I think it's best you leave" he said. Estelle bent down and took the box from the ground and handed it back to Ruth.

    "Ruth why did you even come here, you know better that you're not welcomed here" Estelle said. Cassie placed her arm around my shoulder and rubbed it softly.

    "I just came to give you my best wishes, that's all" she said, feigning innocence but it was so transparent.

      "And a big congrats to the bride to be" she says, turning to me with a glare. I rolled my eyes and took a step backwards, getting closer to Cassie.

    "Elly, this is what she wants. Stop acting like you're intimidated by her" Cassie whispers to me. "I'm not, I just dont like the drama ya know" I whispered back and returned my attention to the woman before me.

     "Don't you at least want to see what my gift was?" she asked, out stretching her hand once more. "I'd rather see you leave Ruth. You're making this harder than it has to be" Anthony said.

     "I'm making this hard?! How do you think this is for me huh? Do you think this is a walk in the park?" her voice starts to get louder and a few people cast us fleeting glances.

     "Lower your voice Ruth, this is not the place nor the time for this stupidity!" he says firmly.

    "Oh come on Anthony. We both know that the only reason you're even contemplating to marry this girl is because you feel an obligation to her and those god forsaken babies" Ruth spits and I must admit this hurts my feelings.

    I turn away and Cassie quickly spins me around by the shoulders. "Elly stop it and dont listen to a word she says" Cassie tried to comfort me. I just ended up looking at my feet instead of facing them directly.

    "Oh bloody hell Ruth! That's enough. I love Eloise more than I've loved you in years gone by. Obligation is not my reason for wanting to be with her, she is so much more than you could ever be.

     I don't believe in all the foolish fantasies and all that but I truly believe that Eloise was always the one meant for me which is why it never worked out with you" he said then turned towards me.

    "Eloise I meant everything I said to you. I plan on devoting my life to you. To share my happiness, sadness, good times and bad times with you and only you. Nobody else matters to me right now and nothing this woman says can change that fact so dont you dare believe a word she says" he says to me and I get all teary eyed.

   He wipes a stray tear away and let's his hand linger on my cheek. I close my eyes involuntarily and just relish the feel of his cool palm on my face.

    "No! This is not how this goes"
Ruth shouted and she dropped everything she was holding and shoved Anthony from where he was standing in front of me and with a scream she used all her force and shoved me.

    I was definitely not expecting that and I ended up falling backwards with so much force and landed flat on my back.

    I cried out so loudly that the whole venue's attention was now on us all and they were all unabashedly looking.

    "What the hell!" Alejandro shouted and he came running over to where we were standing.

   My tears started to flow freely as I hollered in pain. A sharp pain ran up my spine and also in my hips and pelvis region.

    My vision was blurry as my body ached in pain. Anthony scooped me up into his arms and I could see he was on the brink of crying.

    "I need to go to the hospital right now! I need- " he says but he starts to break down.

   "Let me take her man. Come on I'll take her to the car" Alejandro says and Anthony reluctantly let's him take me from his arms.

   I open my eyes and I see Ruth standing with a wild look in her eyes. Cassie was full on crying alongside Cammy. They hugged each other and everyone else was still taking in the whole scene.

    "Oh my gosh Alejandro, she's bleeding!" Anthony shouted. Alejandro swore under his breath and started to walk faster with Anthony hot on his heels.

    My vision was blurring even more and I could hear my heart beating in my ears. I allowed the darkness to take me away from this hot searing pain.

*Anthony's P.O.V*

     "We need help over here!" I shouted. Alejandro was still holding Eloise in his arms.

    Her head flopped backwards as he held her in the bridal style and I couldn't help the tears that fell from my eyes.

    Her dress was soaked in blood and it was now dripping to the floor. "Hey, somebody help us!" I shouted again.

   A bewildered looking nurse ran over to us with a wheelchair. "What happened?" she asked. She pressed a button on her pager as she spoke. "We need help please. She fell and now she's bleeding and I dont know what to do" I said and I was full on crying right now.

     "Ok place her in this wheelchair for me please and I'll take her to the emergency room" she says. Alejandro shakes his head no and grips her tightly. "No I'll take her, just please show us where to go" he says and the nurse nods and starts walking in the opposite direction.

    I'm so grateful to have Alejandro by my side. He saw that I was falling apart and he stood up and took lead when I couldn't.

    "Hey man, I appreciate this so much" I said as I jogged behind him and the running nurse. "You know I'm here for you, you're my family. Elly's my family man" he said as we turned a corner and entered the emergency room.

    "Place her here for me please" she says, pointing to a bed with a doctor standing by it. "Paging OB to the emergency room" the doctor spoke into a mic and it was heard through the speaker systems.

   "I'll take it from here guys, please if you could wait outside" the doctor said to us.

     I didn't want to leave but Alejandro dragged me out and told me that she was now being taken care of and I would just be in the way.

    We sat in the cold plastic chairs of the waiting room and Alejandro held me close to him as I cried. I let out all my frustration and all the feelings I was keeping inside.

   I no longer had to hold up a strong facade, all my walls came falling down. The love of my life was hurt and my babies could possibly be hurt too.

    I felt nothing but utter pain and I wanted this to hurry up and be over with.
