Eben walked through the house getting ready for an interview he was going to have when the boys had gone to school. "Boys, let's go!"
Daniel and Jonah ran downstairs followed by Jack and Corbyn. "Where's Jack?" Eben asked.
"I think he went to pick up Gabriella," Zach replied.
"That's nice," Jonah muttered.
"What's wrong?" Corbyn asked worriedly.
"Nothing," Jonah replied.
Daniel sighed. "What's wrong Jonah? You know that we're here for you."
"This is gonna sound childish but I don't want to go to school," Jonah mumbled.
"Why not?" Zach asked.
"Trey has been bothering me a lot," Jonah said.
"Just bothering? Not bullying?" Corbyn asked.
Jonah shook his head and got in the car. When they got to school they spread out towards their own classes. Jonah was almost in the classroom when Trey walked over. "Hey, Jonah."
"Leave me alone," Jonah muttered.
Trey punched Jonah and Jonah fell against the lockers. Trevor punched him again. He pulled out a pen and wrote on Jonah's face. Jonah was too weak to fight back and stared up at Trey. Trey dragged Jonah into an abandoned janitor's closet and locked the door.
At the end of the day the boys were in the car waiting for Jonah. "Should I go check on him?" Zach asked.
"I'll do it," Jack said.
"Good idea," Daniel muttered. "I'm kind of doubting what he said."
"What do you mean?" Corbyn asked.
"About only being messed around with by Trey," Daniel replied.
"Yeah me too," Zach said.
Jack walked around looking for Jonah when he saw a crowd around the old janitor closet. "What's going on Matt?"
"Jonah got locked in there by Trey," Matt replied.
Jack pushed through the crowd and went in. "Jon, what happened?"
Jonah didn't reply as he continued to cry. Jack lifted Jonah's chin and his eyes widened in horror when he saw the bruises and words on his friend's face. "What happened? I'm so sorry."
"Get me away from these people," Jonah muttered pulling on his hood.
Jack helped Jonah to his feet and led him to the bathroom. After helping him wash off his face the boys went to the car and headed home. Jonah went straight to his room followed by Jack. "Talk to me, Jon."
"You saw it. I don't want to talk," Jonah muttered.
Jack sighed. "Jonah are you okay?"
Tears streamed down Jonah's cheeks. "I'm fine," he sobbed.
Jack noticed red marks on Jonah's arms. "What are those?" he asked.
Jonah pulled his sleeves down. "Nothing," he stammered.
Jack pulled Jonah's sleeves up and gasped. "Jonah, why didn't you just talk to one of us," he said.
Jonah didn't reply as he stared at the floor. Jack dropped the subject and pulled Jonah into his arms. "I'm not going to let anyone hurt you anymore Jon. You're okay."
Jonah was shaking as he hugged Jack back. Corbyn and Daniel appeared in the doorway followed by Zach. "What's wrong? What's going on?"
Jack stroked Jonah's hair. "Trey has been bullying Jonah. I got a picture of what he did to Jon today. To show the principal of course. I just can't believe that someone would do that to someone else you know."
"Jonah, we're going to fix everything. We'll get help. I promise. We all do," Daniel said.
When Jonah looked at the others the boys were horrified at the bruises on their friend's face. "What the hell? Trey did that to you?" Corbyn stammered in disbelief.
"Yeah," Jonah mumbled.
Zach hugged Jonah. "I'm so sorry man. We'll end this right away. I swear."
