Everything looked great from the helicopter.
Luke received them at the Hunters' farm. He was there doing a follow-up on Lady Arana who was now happily settled in with her new husband-to-be.
Clifford, better known as Cliff, came along with Luke to meet the long-lost princess who hugged Cliff before throwing her arms round Luke.
Lady Arana was rocking her baby at the veranda when they traipsed in. Vasheronne hugged her mother before enfolding them around the newborn.
"Ronne... is that you?" Lady Arana asked just for clarity.
"It is mum... it is."
Both of them had tears streaming down their faces as they switched to French to communicate. Must have been the emotions too because when Wardah came, she first yelled out in shock before tackling her sister into a hug.
After that she turned to Luke and thanked him gracefully for regularly checking on them. She did not take it for granted.
As she spoke, Vasheronne kept her eyes on Luke. When he looked hr way, she smiled and mouthed "thank you" to him.
He nodded and mouthed "you're welcome."
*&*&*&*&
"Justin, tell me why she is at the fringes of the Crescent. Now."
Justin sighed before speaking. "She went to visit Lady Arana."
"Does she exist or... does Luke want to steal her from me...?"
"Sir..."
"Not now Justin," Rajab said angrily as he dialed his PI's number. This was Justin and Luke's fault.
They are both to blame.
*&*&*&*&
Rajab was very angry.
First Naimah was still following him around, trying to talk to him about everything.
Secondly, Mulan was still angry at their father for him hitting her. She was being difficult and even though Rajab knew that what she did and said was justified, it made h irritated to no end.
His mother was MIA, probably meeting with the wedding planners to finalize everything. She seemed to be everywhere but beside him. Perhaps she was afraid of his anger too.
Then she was missing. For some reason, she couldn't listen to the voice of reason.
Seemed to him like all the women in his life were avoiding him.
With good reason, his subconscious whispered.
Yah think?
Shaking his head, he turned his GPS locator device on and tried to find her but... she left her phone.
Damn it!
"JUSTIN! Get in here now!"
The said PA walked in quietly, looking afraid. Rajab gave him a Tell-me-everything-now look and the young lad started to speak. Words tumbled out pretty fast.
"She took Theo with her. She also made sure that he turned off his GPS."
"Aren't you a nerd?" Rajab sneered in distaste.
"A geek... i can try hacking into his phone through his email though..."
"Though...?" Rajab egged him on.
"He won't like it."
*&*&*&*&
"Rajab..." Naimah approached him yet again but he did not listen. His nose wrinkled in distaste.
"What do you want now?"
Naimah gasped. She knew he didn't care, and even though he tried to fake he did not mind her, he really did mind her.
"Nothing. Good night."
She already knew what to do. It would be quick. All she had to do was say that it was a false positive and they'd all believe her.
Making her way to her chambers, she tried hard not to cry. She wore her fake smile well, pretending she was okay.
Victor was walking down the stairs when she met him. He took one look at her and kept walking.
See, he loaths you. You have to apologise. He is the only person who cares about you.
Sighing, she walked into the room and straight away popped the pill. She lay back on her bed, staring up at ceiling.
I am not like them
I do not seek fame.
My game is not lame
my faith is on a man without a name
i miss the days when everything seemed the same
back then i wrote my name without a shame
i was a pretty dame
i was born with fame
something tonight change it will
and no it won't be a bill
not one of my own at least
and not of my will
maybe somehow i may be a beast
but its the least i can do.
Let me sleep tonight
let me gatjer my might
for tomorrow when it is light
my peace may end with a fight
and my life may become a flight.
for i have lost 'ere
a man who knew no fear
he was such a dear...
but i made him tear...
and if he didn't then i will
i gave him no dollar bill
i gave away the fruit of our love.
i will make him cry
i will make me cry
but it had to beit had to be
She shut her eyes and let out a sigh. It was over. Done with. A tear slipped past her shut eyes as she curled up in bed and cried.
She knew she wouldn't win.
It was a game she would never win.
