Charlotte's bloody body was discovered at 10.00 AM Greenwich Meridian Time.

Everybody was surprised and upset. No one had a dry face. They all cried. Veronica couldn't stop herself from screaming in rage at the death of her friend. Lucas didn't know what to feel.

The wedding plans were halted. As it was, there was nothing much you could do with a dead person.

"Do you have any suspects?"

Sir Baron and Lord Payne were seated in the living room of the former discussing the homicide with Inspector Hunt.

"It is hard to pinpoint who did it. Well, it happened late in the night when everyone was supposed to be asleep."

"Does this mean that my niece's death is a closed case?" Lord Payne asked, pacing around the room. Sir Baron looked sympathetically at his neighbour.

"You say that she lived here because of his son?"

"Yea, she did."

"Truth be told, the case is not closed. Especially now that we just realised that her maid is missing."

The two men exchanged a look. "What?! She is missing?"

"Yes, and no one has seen her since last night. Sir Baron, according to Nina, she was the last one to see her awake because she left to tuck her mistress into bed."

The two men exchanged a look. This was it, either Vasheronne really was the killer or they were unaware of what took place in the room.

The Inspector organised a search of the grounds later that evening. They found nothing much. That was until one of the junior officers yelled that he had found something. A few metres later, they picked up a ribbon and a shoe. All the evidence got bagged.

They searched the grounds again but found nothing much. A button and what looked like blood on the ground.

"Okay laddies," Inspector Hunt called, "let's call it a day."

The gentleman then proceeded to leave the premises while asking himself why anyone would kidnap Vasheronne.

What if the maid was not the killer? what if she was taken away to be killed by Charlotte's killer?
