Chapter 14 Awkward Car Ride:
I was stuck in the middle of the parking lot pacing back and forth. I texted Em 45 times and called her 9 times but no answer. I even called Austin but he said that he was already home and wasn’t going to come get me. I really hate him. I had no other option left but to walk all the way home. As I was going on my journey home someone called out my name. I turn around to see that it was Jake.
“Hey,” he said pulling up next to me.
“Hi.”
“Need a ride?” he asked. I was about to say yes when I thought against it. Jake can’t know I live with Shane. But I really need a ride home. I guess I have to do the right thing.
“No, it’s okay I already asked someone else to drop me home, but thanks for offering.” I say with a smile.
“Oh no problem maybe next time.”
“Yeah,” he then drove off. I was stuck in the parking lot again all by myself.
I was starting to walk when I heard another honk. I turn around and guess who I see. Shane. He slowly drove up next to me.
“You need a ride?” he asked.
“Why do you care not like you’re offering, right?” I asked annoyed.
“Actually I was. I saw that you said no to Jake for a ride and thought the least I could do was take you home.” I was shocked. Was this guy actually being nice to me?
“Oh, thanks?” I slowly get into the car. I put my seatbelt on and Shane started driving.
This kid can’t drive.
“Slow down! You could hurt someone! We could get in an accident!” I yelled at him.
“You think this is fast? This is what you call fast,” he said making the car go faster than it already was. If that was even possible.
I shut my eyes and start praying. Oh God please save me!
“Hey, I’m the one giving you a ride home and on top of that you’re complaining about my driving.” I turn and glare at him.
“I need to get home fast,” he said and the conversation ended at that.
“Look the less time you spend with me the better for you,” he said. It’s worthless arguing with him.
I close my eyes and grip the seatbelt. I then felt the car slow down. I slowly open my eyes and turn to him.
We finally pull up to his house. He parked it and I quickly go out heading straight for my house.

Shane’s POV:
I don’t know what happened to me. I just know that she was looking really adorable and scared when I was going fast and I guess my foot has a brain of its own so the car started slowing down. When I pulled up to the house she didn’t even wait a second. She threw the door open and ran out without a bye. I was about to get out of the car when I saw something shining in the passenger’s seat. I look down and see a purse looking thing. Great she probably left it. I pick it up and walk up to the house. I knock but she didn’t answer. I turn the knob for the heck of it and to my surprise it actually opened. I slowly walk in.
“Elena?” I yelled but no one answered.
I than started walking up the stairs still calling her name. I got to her room and turn the knob to see her standing there only in a towel.
She turns around shock written all over her face.
“What are you doing?! Get Out!” I just stand there looking out her long legs with water dripping from them. Whoa Shane snap out of it. I was about to turn and leave when I thought this could be a great moment to annoy her.
“It's a good thing that I have my library card.” A look of confusion crossed her face.
“What? Why?” she asked.
“Because I’m totally checking you out!” I saw her cheeks turn a bright red and was satisfied.
“Get out!” she yelled and started pushing me towards the door.
“Do you really think it’s a good idea to be coming so close to me looking like that?” she quickly dropped her hands and turned her back towards me.
“Okay, I’m leaving I just came to give you your purse thing back.” I say as I walk over to the bed and drop her purse there.
“Oh um thanks,” she says awkwardly. I turn around and walk out the door but not before I “accidently” bump into her. This had caused her to loss her balance and she was falling back when me, being the hero I am came to the rescue.
I wrapped my arms around her waist and her cheeks turned bright red.
“Could you let me go,” she said.
“You sure?”
“Hell yeah I’m sure now let me go,” she said with anger. I loosen my arms and she was about to hit the floor.
“NO!” she yelled and I quickly tightened by grip again.
“But you said to let you go.” I said innocently.
“Shut up! This isn’t funny!”
“Okay, calm down,” I said as I placed her back on her feet. I turned and left but not before checking her ass out in that towel. Hey I’m a teenager and a boy you can’t blame me.
