The battle

Nightmares plagued me of what happened at the temple to well Marcus, Han walks into the cargo hold and notices me asleep and comes over to wake me up "no... No.... No..... Stop ...." I mutter shaking but still asleep. "Hey kid. Wake up." He says and nudges me a few times. I jolt awake and away from his touch. "Sorry" Coming to my senses I quickly apologise to him. He shakes his head "it's my bad but you were muttering stuff and shaking, we are here just so you know kid". Looking outside We were in a forest of gargantuan trees, an ancient temple lies shrouded in an eerie mist. The air is heavy with the fantastic cries of unimaginable creatures. Getting up to follow Han, Luke and the others are we were greeted by the Rebel troops. They have us ride into the base on a military speeder. The military speeder stops in a huge spaceship hangar, set up in the interior of the crumbling temple. Willard, the commander of the Rebel forces, rushes up to the group and gives Leia a big hug. Everyone is pleased to see her, it seems. I was standing awkwardly to the side of her with Han and Luke. "You're safe! We had feared the worst. When we heard about Alderaan, we were afraid that you were... lost  along with your father." The rebel commander said looking to Leia. It's like a flip of a switch she was back into leader mode. "We don't have time for our sorrows, Commander. The battle station has surely tracked us here." She stops to glare at Han next to me. "It's the only explanation for the ease of our escape. You must use the information in this R2 unit to plan the attack. It is our only hope." We are then dismissed for a moment while rebel leadership talks with Leia.Soon a large meeting is called for the entire rebellion. In front general Dodonna stands before a large electronic wall display. Leia and several other senators are to one side of the giant readout. The low-ceilinged room is filled with starpilots, navigators, and a sprinkling of R2-type robots. Everyone is listening intently to what Dodonna is saying. Han and Chewbacca are standing near the back with Luke and I. "The battle station is heavily shielded and carries a firepower greater than half the star fleet. It's defenses are designed around a direct large-scale assault. A small one-man fighter should be able to penetrate the outer defense. The Empire doesn't consider a small one-man fighter to be any threat, or they'd have a tighter defense. An analysis of the plans provided by Princess Leia and others has demonstrated a weakness in the battlestation. The approach will not be easy. You are required to maneuver straight  down this trench and skim the surface to this point. The target area is only two meters wide. It's a small thermal exhaust port, right below the main port. The shaft leads directly to the reactor system. A  precise hit will start a reaction which should destroy the station." Quiet whispers start through the room most of disbelief. "Only a precise hit will set up a  chain reaction. The shaft is ray-shielded, so you'll have to use proton torpedoes." The commander finally finishes his long speech after finishing with may the force be with you. Everyone begins to leave heading to their various stations or their ships. Luke and I do the same, heading to the hangar to get ships. Flight crews rush around loading last-minute armaments and unlocking power couplings. In an area isolated from this activity Luke and I find Han and Chewbacca loading small boxes onto an armored speeder. Han is deliberately ignoring the activity of the fighter pilots' preparation. Luke is quite saddened at the sight of his friend's departure. "So." I say "you got your reward and you're just leaving then?" Looking down at the floor after. "That's right, yeah! I got some old  debts I've got to pay off with this stuff. Even if I didn't, you don't think I'd be fool enough to stick

around here, do you? Why don't you guys come with us? You're pretty good in a fight. I could use you." He says looking between Luke and I hopefully. I just shake my head as Luke gets a little angry "Come on! Why don't you take a look around? You know what's about to happen, what they're up against. They could use a good pilot like you. You're turning your back on them." I sigh and turn away no longer wanting to deal with him at the moment. As Luke finishes up and joins you to walk away Han calls out "hey Luke, Elizabeth... may the force be with you!" We turn back to look at him and Han winks at us, we wave and walk off. Leia and Dodanna are waiting for us at our ships, I head over to mine and wait for Luke to be alone before I say my goodbyes. Luke looks disappointed but cheers up after Leia gives him a quick little kiss. I turn away briefly so I don't have to see it. Another pilot and red leader went over to him so I continued to wait. They finally left after giving Luke a pat on the back. I run over and stop him before he can climb into the fighter. "Hey Skywalker " I say quickly "Kane" he says back with a smirk. "Don't die out there ok hotshot, I need you to come back." He wraps me in a hug "only if you come back too ok, the force is with us." I nod and also wrap my arms around him only to let go a moment later when a technician comes and talks to Luke about R2 and loading him into his ship. I nod and wave to him then head over to my ship where they inserted an R5 unit to assist me. I climb in and out my helmet on starting up the x-wings controls.
