KELSIE'S POV
"...But mom I..."
"I thought we already talked about this Kelsie."
"We did but..."
"But what!! What is it?"
"I don't want a job at The Starks Alley!"
"Oh Give it a chance Kelsie. It's only been one day."
"Do I have to?" My mom looked at me viciously.
"You are a very ungrateful child! Do you know how many girls would like to be in your place? Do you?"
I fell silent.
"All I want is the best for you but you don't see it. You're as arrogant as your father!"
"Father?" I asked surprisingly. My mom has never said anything about my father since I found a picture of us as a family when I was little.
"Don't get me started on that mountain of issues."
There must have been a lot of dark history between them
"Is he alive? Is he close by? Have you spoken recently?" I suddenly got the urge to get more information about him. The Starks Alley could wait.
"Honey, all these years you've been fine without him. None of that should worry you now."
"What are those papers for?" I asked, pointing at the documents on top of the table. I decided not to dwell on my dad.
"It's a programme I've been working on for The Starks Alley. We'll have foreign student coming for a few weeks to learn more about the entertainment industry."
"It sure is a lot of paper work."
"And it's all due tomorrow. Your uncle can be demanding at times."
"You need help?"
"No, I can handle it. It's fine."
I nodded then immediately started going up to my room.
"Kelsie..." Mom called, "Don't think about your father, it's a waste of the time you should have been making billions."
