Chapter 14: Day Trip

Sawyer was on the second floor of the drop ship wanting to be away from everyone. She wrapped her stomach in cloth hissing from the constant pain

The storm passed so everyone was picking up the damage outside. She hadn't seen Peta yet, she went off with some girls to remake their tent

Sawyer stood up and headed for the ladder wanting to check on the grounder. She climbed up and saw Clarke cleaning his hand. Well attempting. The grounder had a closed fist and kept moving away

"Look I need to clean this" Clarke said continuing to try

"Here let me try" she said making her presence noticeable. Their heads turned to her and the grounder's glare softened upon her arrival

She took the rag from Clarke's hands and gently wrapped a hand around the grounder's. She watched him as she gently tapped him with the rag. His hand opened up showing Sawyer he was comfortable

"I never meant for him to get hurt Sawyer, or you" Clarke said but Sawyer ignored her as she continued 

"You have to know that, I just wanted to save Finn"

"For the record, you didn't save Finn, that was me and Octavia. But whatever you want to tell yourself to feel better " Sawyer said being rude on purpose

Clarke sighed and left heading to the ladder

Sawyer glared at her before turning back to the grounder. "I'm so sorry, you saved Octavia's life and look at the thanks you get" she said speaking softly to him as she continued to clean the blood

"I know I should be mad at you because you hurt me but, I never wanted any of this to happen to you" she explained. His thumb covered her hand making Sawyer stop as she looked at him

She smiled at him, her smile made his heart warm. Everyone said Sawyer had a heart warming contagious smile and here the grounder was feeling the effects of it

"Thank you" he said softly making Sawyer's smile bigger. "Hey?" Miller said waking up from the corner, he walked over to them making Sawyer stare back at his hand

"Did he just say something?" Miller asked

Sawyer shook her head "No" 

"You know Bellamy doesn't want you up here, Sawyer let's go" he said making her nod. She bent down dropping the rag and picking up the bloody screw that was once in his hand.Sawyer smiled at him one last time before turning to leave

Making it to the bottom she dropped off the ladder and pushed the tarp covering the exit out of the way. She walked out seeing everyone cleaning up

"We'll get it cleaned up" Bellamy said coming to her side acting normal. "We're not doing this" Sawyer looked at him in disgust before walking off to find Peta. Bellamy grabbed her arm stopping her. He was looking down at the bloody screw in her hand
