Chapter 4: The Ground

Colton: 12 

Sawyer's proposition to the Chancellor worked and her life was switched for Coltons. So here she sat in the sky box. She was put in solitary because technically she didn't commit any crimes. After much argument the ark found out they were potentially going to float Chris Jameson and people revolted arguing and saying that killing Chris would be like killing the ark

So there stood Chris in his own cell next door. He was only taken out when he was needed. He had even running classes for potential mechanics and engineers but his nights were still spent in the sky box 

The hardest thing about being in the sky box for Sawyer was being alone. She grew up with Colton attached to her hip. But now she sat staring at the wall bored out of her mind. She couldn't watch her Mom perform a procedure in the medical center and she couldn't help her Dad with a new invention

Sawyers eyes shot open and she found herself knees tucked into her chest staring at the wall. She released her arms that had been wrapped around her knees and brought them up to her face as she wiped her eyes

She had been thinking about everything possible. It had been 1 year since she had seen Atlas. He used to work in the sky box but then was moved. Everyday he would give Sawyer her meals and she was able to talk to him. He would put his hand through the bars which she held for a minute before he had to go

She thought about her Dad and Colton. She wondered how they were doing. How Colton was managing on his own

The silence was interrupted when her cell door busted open and 2 guards fled in

"Prisoner 289 against the wall!" Sawyer jumped up from the sudden scare and faced the wall. "Wha-whats going on?" she questioned as a box was opened and a bracelet with needles was pulled out

"Hold out your arm" the guard demanded "No stop I have 6 months left! Its not my time" Sawyer cried out desperately. One of the guards aggressively yanked her arm towards them

"No no stop let me go!" Sawyer screamed as she pushed at the guard. Before she could react she felt a shock hit her rib cage, energy coursed through her veins causing her body to go limp

Expecting to hit the floor she didn't as one of the guards caught her. She hissed feeling a stinging on her wrist from the needles in the bracelet injecting into her

Her body was forced up and shoved out of the room her arms held tightly behind her back. With pain still spreading on her stomach her body was weak forcing her to be pulled by the guard

Sawyer's head turned at the sound of a voice "Dad?" she asked confused as tears began blocking her vision. The guard had thrown her into her father's arms and Chris was holding her up

"Dad? Dad? Whats happening?" Sawyer cried out as she gripped on to her father. "Your being sent down to the ground" Chris answered as he stroked his daughter's hair 

"No, no Dad we can't its- were gonna die" Sawyer said stumbling on her words. Chris stared into his daughters blue eyes. The blue eyes he hadn't seen in 2 years, he could see her Meredith so much in Sawyer and it made him freeze as he remembered his love

"Dad?" Sawyer croaked out. Before he was able to speak a guard came up behind and injected a needle into Sawyer's neck causing her body to go limp in Chris' arms. Chris gasped as he looked up furious "We were supposed to get time to say goodbye!" he yelled

That was the deal. He built the drop ship and Jaha allowed Chris to say goodbye to his daughter "You took too long" the guard spit out. A stretcher and 2 more guards  came from the corner and Chris watched as they placed Sawyer on the stretcher
