Chapter 24: The Escape

Sawyer looked around trying to figure out what to do. She walked up to a cart and jumped in seeing it was empty other than 3 bodies. She hissed at the pain impact of her body hitting the bottom. She covered her face and pretended to be dead 

Sawyer felt the cart moving and kept yelling "fuck fuck fuck fuck" over and over again in her head. Suddenly the cart came to a stop. Sawyer's heart raced as 2 reapers reached into the cart and pulled out a girl laying right next to her 

She heard yelling and cheering. She jumped up looking at her clothes in disgust. Sawyer peered her eyes over the top of the cart and saw all the grounders distracted. She took this as a perfect time and jumped over the top of the cart

Not even stopping for a second she took off in the other direction. She had never gone this way in the reaper tunnels, the one way she did go through coincidentally was the path where all the reapers currently were 

Running Sawyer kept turning to make sure no one was behind her. She stopped to catch her breath and looked in front of her to see 3 possible paths. She coughed trying to get some air and looked up as she held her sides 

Sawyer started to run again but stopped as she saw a reaper heading her way. She gasped and tried to turn only to see another reaper. Turning in the other direction 3 reapers were running with torches

She gasped and backed up. Sawyer was shaking in fear as they all got closer, their groans filled her ears and Sawyer cried out. Suddenly a weird high pitch sound bursted out and all the grounders fell to the ground yelling in pain

Sawyer stared in confusion as she saw guards heading her way. It didn't take long for her to realize that it was Mount Weather men

"Sawyer Jameson! Your coming with us" they yelled 

"Oh no i'm not" Sawyer challenged and took off sprinting past them. Sawyer furrowed her brows as she ran confused at how easily she slipped past. Sawyer sprinted and gasped as she came to an opened dead end 

She peered over and saw a waterfall that must've went down hundreds of feet. She turned and stopped immediately seeing the 2 mount weather men closing her in 

"You don't have to do this Sawyer" one yelled 

Sawyer turned her head back and debated what would happen if she just jumped 

Not hesitating Sawyer jumped screaming on her way down 

"Holy fucking shit! Ah fuck me!" she screamed bracing herself for impact  

It felt like years before she finally hit the water but once she did she was knocked out cold from the impact

Sawyer's eyes opened and she thrashed around as water began filling her lungs. She pushed her body up and swam trying to reach the top. Her throat started burning and air filled her head
