Chapter 40: Rescue

Sawyer's eyes opened slowly, ringing filled her ear as she looked around. She couldn't see anything. Her body was in pain, there was a rubble pinning her down to the floor. Sawyer groaned and coughed out dirt as she pushed the rubble off of her 

It didn't move being that Sawyer had no strength. Sawyer screamed as she threw the rock off. Sawyer cried as she rolled over. "Help!" she cried. "Help me please" Sawyer coughed 

While Sawyer laid there surrounded the rubble Bellamy was giving in his guards jacket. He was devastated and hearing the screams that came from her family last night still burned in his mind

Sawyer cried as she dragged her body through the rubble. She groaned as her leg throbbed, Sawyer was blocked by a large boulder. She coughed dust out of her mouth and laid there limp giving up

Sawyer covered her mouth with her hand trying to not breath in the dust and ash that surrounded her. "You got this" she said motivating herself 

Sawyer lifted her arms to push the boulder. She screamed as she used the little strength to push the large rubble 

Sawyer gasped as the boulder moved forward a little. "No way" the girl said in shock as light filled her eyes. Sawyer groaned and began dragging her body forward, she kept pushing at the boulder as she moved closer

Sawyer made it out pushing the boulder she wheezed as the fresh air burned her lungs

(Last night) 

Pulling into Arcadia knowing that Sawyer was not going to walk in the gates again tore on everyone's heart. Atlas and Bellamy sat speechless in the rover. Raven couldn't move she kept seeing the explosion over and over again. Abby dreaded telling a father that his daughter was gone

Sighing she hopped out of the rover. The rovers parked in the garage and the teams came out. Bellamy and Atlas didn't move they stayed glued to their seats

"Come on boys" Kane says as he stood in front of the back door

Atlas slowly stands up and jumps out, he looked up to see Chris looking around "Atlas!" Chris called out happy. Atlas looked up at the man and Chris's face fell as he saw Atlas's swollen eyes

"Whats wrong?" he asked. Atlas didn't speak he just started bawling and tears fell "Atlas what happened?" the man asked again as fear filled him. "Where's Sawyer?" he asked looking around 

Kane walked over "You should come inside-" "No, where is my daughter?" Chris repeated. Bellamy walked over "Mr.J, you should come inside" Bellamy said holding in tears. "Bellamy, where's my girl?" Chris asked as tears filled in his eyes

He dreaded the answer "You should come inside" Bellamy repeated looking down. He couldn't look into Chris's eyes knowing it was his fault that Sawyer was in Mount Weather. She wanted to leave and he made her stay 

They had eventually got the Father inside and into the council meeting room. "Sit down Chris" Abby advised. "Is someone going to tell me what's going on!" Chris yelled frustrated at how everyone was crying and not talking. Bellamy, Atlas, Raven and Kane were in the meeting room looking at each other 

"Well someone's gotta speak" Chris says annoyed. "It's Sawyer" Abby said softly

Chris stared in shock at the chancellor "Is she ok?" Chris asked. "She's gone Chris" Kane said gulping. "What do you mean?" Chris asked as he took a step back

"There was an explosion in Mount Weather, it was the Ice Nation. Sawyer was a casualty" Kane explained. Bellamy and Atlas both cried as they heard the words come out of Kane's mouth
