JayAs soon as Charles parked at the old building, I looked around and noticed we were the only ones there. I furrowed my brows but still got out of the car when I was told to. I was mentally trying to figure out a way to send a message to Voight that the meet had been pushed forward, but there was no way. I couldn't use my phone in front of Charles, he'd figure it out right away. I should've worn Voight's tracker chip like he had suggested.
The three of us walked into the building, Ava right in front of Charles which made me feel uneasy. He was way too close to her. We walked into the empty building and from behind I saw Charles pulling out a knife.
"Hey!" I shouted as he grabbed Ava and pulled the knife the her throat. To my surprise, she only jumped -probably surprised by the movement, but she didn't seem scared. Just pissed off. "What the hell are you doing?" I asked him, showing him both my hands so he wouldn't reach for his gun. I didn't approach him but I didn't back away.
"Order to kill if doesn't participate in activities." Was all he said, holding the knife to her throat with such force that it cut her skin a little, making her hiss.
"That's for me. Not for her." I answered, Ava's eyes widening, I guessed she didn't know that I knew about it.
"I don't like you much, Ryan. From the start you never minded your fucking business and you wanted in on everything. It's starting to get on my nerves and to threaten me a little." He explained, ticking his tongue.
"I'm sorry?" I questioned, not knowing what I was supposed to answer. "But that doesn't sound like it's about her so how about you let her go and we discuss it together." I tried, wanting her to get away. I took a step forward but immediately backed up when the knife was pressed harder against her throat.
"You want her away too much. What is it with her?" He pushed his face between her neck and shoulder, like he was kissing her neck.
"Nothing." I simply answered, I didn't understand what he was getting at anymore. Was I his problem or was Ava?
"I might just have to kill her to make a point then." He pressed it even more against her neck and she breathed heavily, her eyes screaming for me to do something.
"Kill me to make a point instead. I'm the one who pushed too much, right?"
"Uh," He laughed, letting go of her. "I might just do that." Charles pushed her to the ground and grabbed his gun. I didn't move, not wanting him to shoot me just because. He pushed the gun on my chest, making walk backwards. I knew there was a flight of stairs close to where I was standing and I had a huge doubt that he's push me down on it.
Ava was laying on the ground, coughing and holding her slightly bleeding neck. I knew she'd be fine, but I was still worried which put me to a disadvantage. As I concentrated on her, Charles took the opportunity to do just what I thought he would. He hit my head with his gun and then kneed me on the side, making me fall directly on the stairs. I tumbled down, hitting my head repeatedly.
He rushed down the stairs, Ava following close behind as she shouted my fake name. Charles grabbed me by the collar and got me to stand up as I tried to push away the dizzy feeling I had. He threw me across a bookshelf, making it fall to the side, somehow. Charles threw the broken shelf out of the way completely and there was a door behind. He opened it and as I looked on the other side I made out tunnels. Fuck. I got up and tried to stand on my own but I was still quite dizzy so Ava helped me stand up.
"Get him in there." I guessed he knew there was tunnels because he did not seem the least surprised. Ava looked up at me and I nodded, telling her it was fine and to listen to him. The team would find me eventually anyway, right?
We walked in the tunnels and Charles told her to let me go, she did as gently as she could and I tried my best to stand. Charles threw a punch to my jaw, making me bite my lip and groan. I angrily punched him back. This went back and forth for a few punches, until he made me fall backwards and kicked me on the ribs and the face. I was mad at myself, I definitely could have taken him but I was way too dizzy.
"I can tell you're a snitch. I know Trevor didn't get to teach you our way with the girls and I know you didn't touch her once. Today, you're going to." He told me, tying my hands on a pole. I usually would've easily been able to get away, but I couldn't.
He got closer to Ava and she stumbled backwards, repeatedly begging him to let her be. Charles forcefully grabbed her and laid her down, she tried to fight him off but she couldn't help but hiss and groan everytime she made a bad movement. Ava was still way to hurt to defend herself correctly.
"Please don't." She begged him as he attached the knife to her neck once again. "Please don't." She pleaded again and I coughed, trying to talk.
"Let her go. She's got nothing to do with this." I pleaded him, still working on my tied up hands. He turned to me and chuckled. He got up and walked to me, his gun raised.
"You're right. It's all about you." He smirked, pushing down the safety on the gun. I could tell it was pointes directly at my heart. Ava's eyes were wide open and full of tears. "You should've never gotten involved."
Boom. His finger pressed the trigger, the gun firing straight at me.
