That evening, the Hobbits made their way home. Upon arriving, they found that the door was closed.

"The door is closed!" Pippin said. "What does it mean?"

"It means our beloved princess is safe from the queen." Bilbo replied.

They went up to the door, and Frodo knocked.

"Snow?" He called. "Dear Snow, we're home!"

Frodo pressed on the knob to open the door, but it wouldn't open.

"The door is locked!"

The Hobbit banged on the door; panicking.

"Snow White! Open up! It's us!"

"Can she hear us?" Sam asked.

"She has to be in there!" Merry cried.

Frodo, having no other choice, turned to his uncle, who was standing behind Merry and Pippin, with Rosie by his side.

"I'm sorry, uncle, but we're gonna have to pry the door open."

Bilbo gasped.

"You will not! That door is expensive!"

"I know, but it's the only way to get to Snow."

Understanding that their dear princess might be in danger, Bilbo agreed.

Frodo turned to all of the Hobbits, giving them the command, then instructed Merry and Pippin to go grab a log from their garden.

As Bilbo and Rosie stood back, the four Hobbits broke the door open.

When they ran in, they found Snow White, lying on the floor, not moving or breathing.

She was dead.

Frodo rushed to the girl's side, lifting her into his arms

Frodo rushed to the girl's side, lifting her into his arms. Sam knelt next to his master, along with Merry and Pippin. Rosie and Bilbo stood by.

"Snow, dear Snow!"

The Hobbit panicked, trying to find something that would revive her.

"Undo the ribbon!"

"But there is no ribbon!"

"Then check the comb!"

"But there is no comb!"

Sam looked for a possible cause, and he found the apple next to Snow's hand. He picked it up and sniffed it.

"She's been poisoned, Mr. Frodo."

Hearing this, Frodo was horrified.

"No! It can't be! There has to be a way!"

"Mr. Frodo, there isn't-"

"There has to be a way! There has to!"

"Mr. Frodo-"

"No, Sam! We can still save her! I promised I'd save her! I just-"

Sam put his hand on Frodo's shoulder.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Frodo, but there's no way to save her from the poison. She has already eaten the apple. There's nothing we can do."

When he heard this, Frodo broke down. He hugged the lifeless girl to his chest, sobbing.

Sam did his best to console his dear master. Pippin cried into Merry's arms. Rosie took out her handkerchief and wept for the princess, and Bilbo lowered his head.

Snow White was gone, and there was nothing the Hobbits could do, but grieve.
