Lily got a hold of the gun and pointed it at me.
"No!" Jay yelled and grabbed lily wrist. The gun went off and jay fell to the ground.
"Jay!" I yelled. I got up and lily pointed the gun to me and another shot went off but instead of me falling back to the ground. Lily did with a bullet in her chest. I looked towards the door and saw hank lower his hand.
"Jay" I said as I went to him and applied pressure to his stomach.
"Amy" he said
"Shhh no don't talk it's ok your going to be ok" I said one hand applying pressure and the other hand running my fingers through his hair .

I sat in the waiting room my leg shaking up and down as I waited for an update on my best friend. Otis sat next to me and was holding james who had a bottle in his mouth I thank god that he's only one and he doesn't start to distinctly remember anything until the age of 4. Intelligence was sitting behind us in chairs.
"Amy" my dad said as he raced into the waiting room and I saw the rest of 51 following him.
"Hey" I said as I got up and he hugged me.
"How are you doing" he asked looking at me.
"Been better" I said sighing. Cruz walked passed me and patted me on the shoulder and I smiled as Cruz walked over to Otis and had a conversation with him before Otis handed james over to Cruz and Cruz walked back to me with my baby in his hands.
"I'm gonna take him back to the apartment. Chloe has been dying to babysit james for like ever" Cruz said and I smiled lightly.
"Go ahead.. his car seat and diaper bag are in my car. The cars unlocked" I told Cruz and he nodded as he walked out of the hospital with james. Otis got up and came over to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. He kissed my head and my dad smiled lightly.
"Truck 81 squad 3 ambo 61 structure fire" dispatch said through the radio.
"I've got to go.. Brian stay here I'll cover for you" he said as 51 started heading back to the trucks
"Thanks chief" Brian called out as they all walked out of the hospital.
I smiled and just as i turned my head I saw Will walk out. I got out of Otis grip and walked over to Will and so did Hank.
"Hey" I said.
"Hey" Will replied
"How is he" Hank asked
"The bullet grazed an artery.. Crockett was able to pinch the artery off and seal the artery so now it's touch and go" Will informed us.
"When can we see him" I said dying to see Jay.
"Now but it's one at a time" Will said. I looked at Hank and he patted my shoulder.
"Go" Hank said and I nodded my head slightly. I looked behind me and Otis smiled and nodded his head.
"Go" he mouthed to me.
"Ok I'll go first" I said and Will opened the ED doors for me and I walked through them.

I walked in and saw Jay and my eyes watered at the sight of my best friend. He had wires all around him.
"Hey Jay" I whispered sniffing as I wiped my tears.
"I'm sorry this happened to you.. I-I shouldn't have called you in. I should've been the one to get shot. You shouldn't have interfered. Why? Why did you do that! I should've been shot not you!" I yelled at him as more tears fell down my face. I was angry that I almost cost his life. Maybe I still did cost his life. They don't know if he'll ever wake up.
"Y-you can't leave me Jay. Your my best friend my rock. I can't be At 21 without you as my partner by my side. Just.. just please come back to me. To us" I whispered grabbing his hand.
"Don't go.. not yet" I said as I slowly pulled my hand away from him and turned and walked out of the room.
I started walking through the ED when I saw Natalie.
"H-hey Natalie.. can you do me a favor?" I asked her
"Ofcourse what is it?" She asked

"Baby's heartbeat is strong, nothing seems to be wrong.. your about 8 weeks in" Natalie said as she removed the ultrasound paddle from my stomach. I pulled down my shirt and sat up
"Thanks Nat" I said getting up.
"No problem.. congratulations by the way" she said as she smiled and walked out of the room.
I got up and also left as tears started to fall down my face as I remembered that Jay was here because of me.
I walked to the door of the ED that lead to the waiting room and quickly wiped my tears as I opened the door. All eyes were on me. Otis got up and engulfed me in a hug. I held back tears as I hugged him back a little tighter.
"Do you wanna go home?" He asked me.
"No" I said and pulled away from the hug.
"Amy.. you need sleep. Come on let me take you home" Brian said
"I said no" I repeated.
"Amy he's right. Go home" hank said coming up to us.
"Sarge. He's my partner in there. I'm not leaving. If I was in this situation he wouldn't leave me either" I said pointing to the doors of the ED.
"Yes he would because I would make him just like I'm making you. Amy I'm not gonna ask you again.. go home.. I'll keep you updated" hank said. I stared at him for a minute before my eyes shifted to the floor and nodded my head.
"Let's go" I whispered to Otis and started walking to the door. I stopped and looked at the doors of the ED hoping Will would walk out saying Jay has woken up but I knew that wasn't going to happen. I continued walking and Otis walked next to me his hand on my lower back as we walked back to the car.
