[Sorry it's so late. My stupid laptop keeps crashing and I have to keep rewriting this chapter. Thank you to anyone who is still reading this. If you have any suggestions, please let me know! By the way look at the pick! The only thing I could think was 'Sebby No!'.]
It was late, past midnight. You were going to meet Sebastian in the parlor, as it was the only time that you both were able to spend time together without having to worry about chores. You hadn't brought up the incident from the other day in hopes of keeping things civil. You watched the clock, he would be there at any moment. You were proven correct when he swept into the room.
"The mansion is locked up.", he said, offering you a hand that you gladly took,"Are you ready?" You nodded in response. He wrapped an arm around your waist to help steady you. He guided you out to the garden.
You looked over the large pool of roses. They were white, and practically glowing in the moonlight. Sebastian helped you to one of the benches. He sat down next to you with an arm still around you. You laid your head on his shoulder and wrapped your arms around him. He smiled down at you. He whipped out a black rose and offered it to you. You couldn't help but smile and except it happily.
"Thank you.", you said quietly. He carefully ran one of his hands through your hair as he stared down at you. You relaxed deeper into his embrace, a faint smile playing on your lips. You let out a cry of pain. You palm...it was burning again. You looked down at it, but were having trouble seeing through your tears. You finally made out that it was glowing blue. It was like it was cutting through your flesh from the inside. You gripped your wrist in hopes of cutting off the circulation and numbing your hand. It didn't help though.
Sebastian had jumped to his feet. He watched your hand for a moment, before coming to some sort of realization. He pulled you up and into his arms. You saw him remove one of his gloves and cut his own hand, out of the corner of your eye. He brought his now bleeding hand to your own. He held your hand. You screamed again. It was like the pain had doubled. It soon began to fade. You felt lightheaded, but it didn't burn anymore. Sebastian pulled his bloody hand away from you. He attempted to straiten himself, but lost his balance. He caught himself on the back of the bench. Sweat laced his forehead, and he seemed out of breath. You gently pushed him to the bench and sat next to him.
You looked over him worriedly. You noticed a burn on his palm that you knew hadn't been there. After a closer look, you realized it was the same burn on your own hand. You heard a clapping behind you. You jerked around to see Ash, rather sarcastically, clapping, a smirk planted on his lips.
"What the hell do you want?", you spat at him. He just smiled, amused.
"Well, obviously, I want you. You belong to me after all.", he replied,"but I must say...this was not what I expected especially from a demon. Now this is going to cause some trouble for you, isn't it Sebastian." Sebastian gave him a death glare that would strike fear into the hearts of anyone other than this psycho, but only evoked a laugh from the 'angel'.
"I do not belong to you. I don't belong to anyone.", you said through gritted teeth.
"But (yourname), don't you see the claiming mark? I thought you would have figured it out by now. I own you, and I can't have something as beautiful as you becoming impure now can, I? As for that demon, I can't say I like it, but it will give me more power..."
"Piss off!", you screamed. Ash raised an eyebrow. Sebastian grabbed you by the arm and yanked you behind him.
"You are acting very unlady-like.", Ash scolded you. You watched as they stared each other down. Sebastian wasn't well...if Ash were to attack... You refused to think about it.
"Fuck you.", you muttered. Ash just sighed, as though he were a parent dealing with a troublesome adolescent. You noticed Sebastian smirk slightly.
"It would appear that the young woman would like for you to leave.", Sebastian shot at him. Ash simply waved it off.
"She doesn't know what she wants. She doesn't understand what she is dealing with. Now back away. You are in no condition to fight, why not just hand over the girl? It would make things much easier for everyone.", Ash replied. You balled your fists in anger. How dare he! How dare he think that he can just treat you like a piece of property! You stepped out from behind Sebastian.
"You do not own me. You do not tell me what to do. You do not talk to me or about me like that. In fact, you don't come near me again.", you said calmly, but anger seeped into your voice.
"And why shouldn't I? Do you not realize that I'm the one who you should trust? If I can recall, he is the one who truly abused you. I simply did what I did in order to protect you.", He stepped in front of you so that he looked down on you. You sneered.
"I don't care. Good, evil, black, white, it's all just an outlook. There is gray to everything. Nothing you say or do can be trusted. And maybe I don't want to be protected. Maybe I want to have the consequence of pain. It is the only thing that reminds me I'm alive, after all.", you said darkly. He simply smiled at you.
"If you wish to feel the consequence of your actions so be it.", he said as he turned away. You turned around to face Sebastian as the sound of Ash's footsteps faded. Sebastian looked at you, his face stone cold. You were taken aback. You didn't expect him to look so angry.
"What's wrong?", you asked cautiously. He looked away from you briefly, before turning back to you, his face softened.
"Nothing.", he said bluntly. You didn't push the subject. He wrapped an arm around you and guided you to the door. You entered the building silently. It was awkward to say the least. The two of you walked up the stairs, to your room. He pulled his arm away from you and turned to leave. You grabbed his shoulder lightly, before he could move.
"Would you stay? Please?", you half whispered. He turned to face you. He gently rested a hand on your neck. You lightly pulled him into the room with you. You curled up next him, resting your head on his chest. You held his now burned hand, and studied the marking that had been seared into your own hand. The only difference was the diagonal cut that ran through the center of his palm. You closed your eyes and paced your breathing, trying to get a handle on your nerves.
You didn't sleep that night, but rested with Sebastian. Neither of you said a word the entire time.
