Chapter 32

~2nd month~

"Hey, we've got the scan in 3 weeks." Nathan says as I nod.
"I know. I'm so excited." I say as Nathan sits beside me and puts his arm round my shoulders.
"I've got to be at work all week next week. You'll be okay here?" He says as I nod.
"Of course I will, Nath. You don't need to worry about me. I'll be fine." I say as he kisses my temple.
"As long as you're sure." He pauses, "Have your brothers come around yet?" Nathan asks as I shake my head.
"No. Moms tried talking to them multiple times over he past month and they're having non of it. I thought they'd be happy for us, yano? I thought they'd be happy to be uncles." I say as I look down at my hands to stop the tears from falling.
"Hey. They'll be fine eventually." Nathan says lifting my head up before kissing my lips softly.
"Well prove them wrong." I say as Nathan looks at me confused, "They said they'll never see the baby but, we can prove them wrong." I say as Nathan shrugs.
"How?" He asks as I shrug.
"Would you be willing to move house?" I ask as Nathan shrugs.
"Depends. Is it nicer than this place?" He ask, now smiling and judging me.
"Well, it won't have a pool or a big garden.!it won't be a 3 story house and it won't have an open plan living room and kitchen..." I trail off, "It'll have to be a bungalow so I can get to the baby..." I trail off again.
"You don't need to do that. I can do it." Nathan says as I shrug.
"I want to do it too tho." I say as he smiles at me and kisses me again.
"I would be willing to move if we needed to so your family could see it." Nathan says as I shrug again.
"I wouldn't wanna leave this place behind. It's too nice and I love it here." I say as Nathan takes my hands.
"But a bungalow in Lincoln would be cheaper, Eva. I could transfer to a mechanic over there and it'd be so much cheaper. Houses here are so expensive. I could only afford this place because my mom helped me." Nathan tells me as I sigh.
"I know. It'll just suck to leave it all behind." I say, looking around the living room.
"Well think about t and have a talk about it." Nathan says, "Let's wait until the baby is here and if we find it difficult living here then we'll find somewhere to move to." Nathan days as I nod.
"Okay." I say as Nathan smiles at me and we start flicking through the TV channels.

Later that night, I laid in bed awake and unable to sleep. Nathan was fast asleep beside me with his arms wrapped around my waist but, all I kept thinking about was Thomas and Julian.

I've had many sleepless nights since we broke the news to my family but his one was, by far, the worst. I could not get to sleep at all. I was absolutely shattered but, I just couldn't get comfy or fall asleep. No matter how many times I closed my eyes, all I could see was the disappointed and sad looks on Thomas and Julian's faces.

Maybe I was overtired. Too tired to even fall asleep. Maybe that's what it was or I was worried. I don't know.

I see my phone light up out of he corner of my eye as I pick it up to see a text from Thomas.

From: Tommy,
Hey Eva. I'm really sorry for what I said when you told us that we were gonna be uncles. I don't know about Julian but, I'm happy for you. I am really sorry and no matter what, Im gonna be there for you. Im 19 for goodness sake. I should be there for you. I'm an adult now and I need to grow up a bit. I love you x

To: Tommy,
Hey. Thank you for texting me. I accept your apology and I always will. You're my brother and I love you so much. You're gonna be the best uncle alongside Julian. You're both gonna be great. I just hope Julian comes around soon. Thank you Tommy. I love you too x

I then place my phone back on the bedside table and sigh. One brother down, another to go.

"Who was that?" I hear Nathan a pice as I stay looking up at the ceiling.
"Thomas. He apologised for everything and he's accepting the fact that he's gonna be an uncle." I say as Nathan nods.
"That's good. Julian?" He asks as I shake my head.
"Not a word from Julian. He's almost 15... The least he could do is apologise." I stays Nathan sighs.
"He'll eventually come around." Nathan says as I nod.
"Try and get some sleep, Eva." Nathan says as I nod and close my eyes.

Finally, I manage to fall asleep...
