16. Staying Back

Recap: "SHIT!!" Everyone yelled as they ran.

As they raced towards the back of the school, what they saw horrified them. The 1st thing they saw was Tate on the ground, her clothes ripped, struggling to put on the hoodie that had been on Jonah earlier.

2nd, they saw Jonah holding a smirking Alex to the wall. 3rd they saw Tate again, this time scanning her properly to see that she didn't have pants on, and she was sobbing. 4th they saw that the rest of Henry's gang was closing in on Jonah, trying to attack him from the back, with Jason and Ethan taking picture of Tate. The boys' anger flared up as they ran towards the other perverts and both Corbyn and Zach ran towards the 2 'photographers' , dragging them backwards then punching them as the girls ran towards tate.

"Jack! Daniel! Hoodies!" Alexa yelled, both of them responding by throwing it at her, Daniel yelling "Sorry babe" afterwards which made Henry much more pissed. "Honey! It's ok! Look at me" said Christina, calming her down as Gabbie and Kay raced back to them with water, and Gabbie's sweatpants that she always kept in her locker in case of an emergency.

Alexa, without a care in the world, pulled off her long sleeve crop top and gave it to Christina as she helped Tate put it on. Gabbie then did the same to her tshirt and gave it to Christina, who was helping Tate into her sweatpants while Kay held her up. Both Alexa and Gabbie, then proceeded to throw on the hoodies that had been thrown at them, and then went back to helping Tate.

As they gently sat her down again their eyes were blurry from tears to see their best friend, sister in this condition. They helped Tate drink water, who was now dressed in layers of clothes. Alexa knew how it felt to be almost raped. Well, they don't know if she was raped or not but they weren't going to ask her now!

As the boys tossed Jason and the others onto the ground, completely infurated, they made their way to the girls who were surrounding the shaking Tate after hauling Jonah off an unconscious Alex. "Is this why you ran without telling us anything" Christina asked him, with an eyebrow arched.

"I got a call. I saw it was from Tate and I was so fricking happy that she called me. But then I heard her scream and the Alex in the background saying 'I'm going to take good care of you babygirl'. So I lost my shit and I ran. I found her on the floor, Jason and Ethan recording as Alex touched her. So I punched him, threw my hoodie at Tate because she needed something to cover herself and ya...." Jonah said, his voice slightly shaking.

"Come here bub! It's fine. You did save her." Alexa comforted him as he burried his face into her shoulders. "T-T-Thanks Jonah" said Tate and Jonah moved in for a hug, making Tate crawl backwards. Jonah's face fell, and seeing this, both Zach and Jack hugged him, gently rubbing his back, soothing him.

"Ok! We need to start working. Tate, Honey? Can we touch you? Only me and Christina. Okay?" Alexa asked her making Tate softly nod her head. "Alright. Jonah? Sweetie, I need you, Zach and Jack to go down to the front office and get us out. Force that woman or even seduce her I don't care. But we need to get out without making it look like we're skipping. Kay and Gabs? Run down to our table where we were sitting in lunch, and get our phones and other things. Get everybody's. Then can you guys come in the next car? We'll take Tate to the house. Tate? Love? Which one of those 2 do you feel more comfortable with?" Alexa asked as she gave orders to everyone, her voice giving no space for argument to the rest while her voice softened with Tate.

Tate pointed at Daniel making Alexa nod. "Ok is it fine if he carries you?" Alexa asked her making Tate's eyes widen in fear. "Sweetie it will be fine ok? I trust him. Do you trust me?" Alexa asked Tate to which she replied with a soft "yes". "Ok! Rest of you run along. Now. Dani, pick her up carefully please. Corbyn your going to drive our car. The rest will take the other car." Alexa commanded as Daniel picked Tate up bridal style and walked down the school without going into the hallways and made it to the car. He gently set her down in the backseat of the car as both Alexa and Christina climed in along with her and Daniel took the passenger seat and Corbtn started driving.

"Can I ask you something?" Daniel said to Tate who nodded. "W-Why were you fine with me carrying you when you flinched when Jonah came near you." Tate opened her mouth but Alexa answered him. "It's because after a traumatising experience like that, any male who you really like, you mind will start to doubt it. You'll become closer to the one that you hate or like the least because your mind will tell you that their less threatning than the other." Alexa told him, making Daniel whisper an "oh" as his face fell when Alexa told him indirectly that Tate didn't really like him much. "D-D-Dani. I-It's o-only be-because your with Alexa and I don't want to see her hurt again" struttered Tate. "I'm sorry" she added later, making Daniel shake his head and ask, "what are you sorry for? It's ok"

*timeskip to after everyone reaches home*

"H-He didn't r-rape me. H-He j-just t-t-touched me." Tate said quietly as Alexa placed some food in front of them. "Honey It's ok. We don't want to know now. Tell us when your ready ok?" Alexa softly smiled at her as she placed plates of food in front of all of them. Tate was still on the opposite side of the couch as Jonah, as everyone else sat with their crush/significant other. "I'll move rooms today. You can stay in that room" Jonah smiled at Tate making her quickly shake her head. "Could you sleep beside me. It makes me feel safe... Just...just not cuddling." Tate whispered making Jonah nod, a small smile on his face.

After they finished their food, Tate said she wanted to sleep and Jack also went upstairs because he was exhausted. "Jack...just take care of her. We're going to walmart. I'm going to give her a small sleeping pill that will kick start her sleeping. Come on guys, lets go." Christina said as she went upstairs and came back down.

"Tina? I have a bit of extra homework. I'll stay back." Kay smiled at her, but Alexa, Corbyn and Daniel all saw through it. Daniel, who was standing behind Alexa with his arms around her waist, squeezed her hip, signaling this and Alexa leaned into him rubbing his knuckles as a form of recognisation. "Should I stay back with you. I'll help you with homework also" Zach asked Kay sweetly who just shook her head and said "It's fine" slightly rudely. "Ok then" smiled Zach but Gabbie saw the hurt expression on his face, and said "Come on. I'll buy you chipotle" making Zach perk up again and run out. Chuckling the rest followed him.

'It's time to make the next move' I thought as I smirked.

*back to 3rd POV*

Zach, being stupid like usual, forgot his phone at home. The gang of 7 were already half way there and now this. Corbyn, who was driving, turned the car around.

Zach got out the car, and walked upstairs to get his phone from Jack's room. The moment he opened the door, he screamed when saw the sight in front of him.

Meanwhile, the others heard the scream and ran in the house, Jonah rushing to see if anything happened to Tate and the rest, to see why Zach screamed. Upon the sight, Gabbie also let out a screamed while the rest stood in shock, that she would try to do something like this.
