24. The Truth Is Always Bitter

Recap: "Tell me whats going on, will you?"

"Not now" whispered Daniel. "I'll tell you sometime later" he said. "B-But" Alexa started but was cut off by Daniel covering her mouth with his hands. "Shushh" He said as he pointed towards the door. Raising her eyebrows in question, Alexa stayed silent, only to hear a slightly muffled voice come through later.

"Why can't I hear anything! What are they saying?!?" Came a voice that sounded like nails against a chalkboard from outside that they both realised to be Brittany's. "That little-" started Alexa but Daniel covered her mouth again. Checking the time, he said, "We have another 20 minutes before lunch ends. Lets give her a show, yeah?" He said smirking.

"A sho-" started Alexa but was cut off by Daniel for the third time that day, this time by kissing her. Smirking into the kiss, Alexa wrapped her arms around Daniel neck as Daniel moved down to her jaw, nibbling at her earlobe as he said "moan my name so that she hears it". Alexa just giggled and did as he asked, only difference was that it was real and not fake as he sucked on her sweet spot, creating a hickey there.

The sound of stomping foot steps came from outside the door and Alexa grinned in victory. Pushing away Daniel, Alexa adjusted her hair so that it covered the purple love bite but got pulled into a kiss again. 5 minutes later the 2 teenagers exited the janitors closet, with slightly messy hair but you couldn't see it unless you observed very intently. (It was just a make out. All the dirty side of your brains needs to chill😂😂)

"Where were you?" Gabbie hissed as Alexa strode into Chemistry. "Janitors closet" Alexa grinned and Gabbie's jaw dropped. "Hi!" Chirped a voice from the other side of Alexa and she saw Emery.

"I-. Oh-. Hi?" Alexa said, wondering whether to trust the new girl or not, considering the fact that Daniel clearly did not. "Hi! Like I said Im Emery, Emery Abott. I have to ask you...are you Daniel's girlfriend?" The brown eyed girl asked Alexa. "Uh...yes I am actually. We just started dating though..." Alexa trailed off.

"Thats nice. Glad to see he finally moved on. Summer hurt him very badly..." Emery said and she looked genuine. "Would you tell me what this Summer girl actually did?" A curious Alexa asked.

"Ms.Mills! Ms.Abott! Detention! You cannot talk in my class. Ms.Abott, I did not expect this from you, much less on your first day!" Exclaimed Ms.Chandle, making Alexa roll her eyes. "Shut up, Helia! We'll be there, but you better not be there" said Alexa, clearly annoyed then turned to Emery and said, "Tell me what happened in detention ok?" Who replied with a "Yeah sure!".

Timeskip to detention!!!

"Now, tell me what actually happened. Daniel's refusing to tell me and I know as a good girlfriend I should let him tell me but I'm wayy too curious and he seems reluctant to talk about it" sighed Alexa and she made herself comfortable in the chair.

"Its a long story actually. It started off with Daniel and me when we were young. We were the thickest of friends despite being like second cousins. Then one day, this girl came into our class in school. She was pretty with the bluest of eyes and like perfect shiny honey blond hair. For some reason, we all became good friends. It went that way for a long long time until middle school. I knew for a fact that both Daniel and Summer had feelings for each other. One day, Daniel finally picked up his courage and asked her out. One and a half years into their relationship, I realised that Daniel looked wearier with eye bags as if he hadn't slept in weeks. He looked tired and sometimes, he looked on the verge of collapsing. He started wearing long sleeves and hoodies, even in the hottest days. One day, I confronted him about it." Said Emery, and by now, tears were threatning to escape her eyes and Alexa could tell she really cared about her cousin.

"He denied anything and everything at first. I finally guilt tripped him and" Emery stopped letting out a big sob before continuing, "H-He said SHE absuses him. Like hits him and Daniel wasn't your ideal muscular man. Sure, he was skinny but that was one of the main problems. His skinny figure couldn't handle her. He sobbed so badly that day, I made him go over and break up with her. H-He went, but came back with ripped clothes and" Emery said, now full on sobbing and Alexa now had tears in his eyes.

"He came back with ripped clothes and his throat held strangling marks. A-And...SHE FRICKEN RAPED HIM! He looked like a little kid that day, so innocent and vunerable. He screamed at me that it was my fault. He broke up with her the next day, but he became more ruckless. Cut off all his friends including me. He then moved and I actually never saw him until today. But he holds a grudge against me for forcing him to go over that day.....Maybe he's right" Emery said, her voice a whisper at the last sentence.

"Look, you didn't know that she was going to do that. She better not come into my sight or she's gonna get it. Now, lets get outta here." Alexa smiled as she wiped her tears away and held her hand out to the sobbing girl, who grabbed it without hesitation.

Timeskip, they reach home

"Daniel James Seavey" Alexa yelled and everyone came rushing down the stairs at the mention of someones full name, only to see 2 girls, with tears slipping out of their eyes. "Baby! What happened!" Daniel exclaimed as he ran towards them. "I swear to god if you did something I-" exclaimed Daniel but was cut off by Alexa grabbing his arm, and forcing him to look at her, with her hands cupping his cheeks.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Alexa asked him softly. "Tell you what- Oh!..." Daniel said, abruptly stopping. "You told her didn't you?!?!" He yelled at Emery, who started sobbing even more. "NO! DANIEL STOP! I was the one who forced her to tell me. Why didn't you tell me Dani? Do you not trust me? Why did you lie to me Daniel?" Asked the teary eyed girl.

"I trust you! I swear I do! But I was scared you were gonna judge me...And what I told you was true. I did find her fucking someone when I went in. I just didn't tell you the whole truth. I'm sorry" Daniel said, now starting to cry. Alexa gently led him up the stairs to their room, amd closed the door to see Daniel standing there behind her, looking so raw and vunerable with tears dripping fast from his eyes.

Running up and hugging him as she burried his head in the crook of his neck, Alexa felt tears hit her blouse as she comforted the sobbing boy. "I'm sorry! I know you think I'm disgusting and I know. I'm sorry" sobbed Daniel and Alexa's heart broke for the boy in her arms. "Baby, Your not disgusting. It must have taken you a lot to finally fall in love again and I know. Your not supposed to be sorry. She is. And she better pray I never see her. Ok? Your amazing baby. I don't know the amount of guts it would have taken to stand up to her and tell her you're dumping her after she raped you. The Truth Is Always Bitter baby. But your strong. I know it. Ok? And I'll catch you. I know you fell the same way, but this time I'm here to catch you. Ok? Now let's go to sleep" Said Alexa as she slowly led the sobbing boy to bed.

"Sleep tight ok?" Alexa said as she kissed the forehead of Daniel then went to leave but Daniel grabbed her arm. "Stay with me?" He asked in a scared voice. "Of course baby" she smiled as she crawled into bed with him.

Timeskip to next day (Ik, too many timeskips but I will end it soon I swearr)

In the morning, everyone had gotten up and changed. Everyone seemed to not ask Daniel or Alexa about the crying incident yesterday. All of them seem to be bonding with Emery, even Zach who still seemed annoyed but looked like he could put up with her.

To school the gang of 10 went. They all had their schedules changed, considering that Emery was an excellent hacker and managed to get a few of their classes  all together with Daniel and Alexa having the same classes.

Sitting in their first class, Mr.Knight strode in, along with another girl with honey blond hair behind him. Daniel and Emery, who were seated beside Alexa and Zach, both tensed up, and Daniel grabbed Alexa's hand. "Class? We have a new student. Meet Ms.Summer Ashton" said Mr.Knight and in that moment, Summer caught Daniel's eye and just smirked.
