I woke up bundled in warmth, and I lazily opened my eyes. "Good morning, baby," Damiar whispered to me, smoothing my hair away from my face, his fingers lingering on my neck. The smile that sneaked onto my lips almost surprised me. "Good morning," I returned, just as quietly. "Sleep well?" He hummed, turning onto his back and rubbing his eyes. "Kinda. I had a nightmare, but I think I know where to go to find your parents."

I sat up, disregarding the hair that once more fell into my face. "From a nightmare?" Damiar stayed put, staring up at the ceiling. "I have a.. friend... And he gave me directions to a cathedral." "And that was a nightmare...?" "Well, no... The nightmare part was more or less after Lilith saw me with you." I chewed on my bottom lip, glancing down to my lap. "When you bit me... I saw her. I saw her and my father."

Damiar sat up and opened his arms. I hesitated a split second, but let him wrap me in a warm hug nonetheless. "And what did they say?" "It was just a discussion about what to do about me so God wouldn't find me. And they said that you -" I cut myself off, unsure on whether or not I should admit what Lilith had said about him. "That I...?" He prompted. "That if you found me, you'd either hurt or protect me..."

Silence hung in the air, and unease began to settle in my stomach. I knew I should have kept that part to myself, but I couldn't help but tell him. I felt compelled to. I felt his fingers trace my jaw, and I looked up to meet his eyes - his beautiful blue-grey eyes. "I would never hurt you," he muttered, his voice hitching slightly. I stared at him, my lips parting as his thumb brushed over them. He slipped it into my mouth, and I nipped at it as his body lightly shuddered.

"Venus," he breathed, capturing my lips in a harsh kiss. I certainly didn't mind it. I had come to terms with myself late last night.

I was in love with Damiar Benjamin Krogh.

Our lips moved together persistently, and I let out a light giggle as my back hit the mattress. He bit at my throat, and I couldn't stop the whimper that clawed it's way past my lips. My teeth clenched together when his fangs grazed my flesh. I felt my warm blood escape the wound, and I shivered as he licked it away, a low growl rumbling in his chest.

I cracked my eyes open, only for them to fly open upon seeing his horns and wings. The latter curled around us in a seemingly protective manner. "D-Damiar...?" His yellow eyes met mine, and I almost melted under his heated gaze. He stared at me, studying me, and I wanted to shrink away from him. Then his eyes returned to their natural color, his horns curling back into his skull, his wings folding behind him and vanishing.

"I'm sorry," he sighed, pressing his forehead against mine. "It's so hard for me to control myself around you..." He kissed the bite mark he left behind, and I felt a slight sting. Had he... Healed it? Damiar moved off of me, heading into the bathroom with his bag of clothes, and I, inexplicably, felt guilty. I felt like I was leading him on, but that wasn't the case at all. He had me in the palm of his hand. Surely he realized that?

With a shake of my head, I tossed on an old Fall Out Boy t-shirt with white leggings and my boots. I quickly threw on Damiar's leather jacket, and I hid my smile with my hand once he left the bathroom in a black Japanese street hoodie looking for it. "Venus, do you know where I -" He cut himself off when he saw that I had wrapped it securely around myself. I gave him my best puppy dog eyes, and a large grin broke out onto his face.

It made my heart flutter.

"Alright, you. Come on." We grabbed our bags, and I grabbed his hand as we began to leave, causing him to stop short in his tracks. He stared at our hands for a moment before his eyes shot up to me. "What?" I asked innocently. He let out a shaky breath, smiling softly. "You're beautiful. You know that right?" I snorted. "Oh, please. I didn't even put on mascara." "I'm serious."

Damiar dropped his bag, taking hold of both of my hands. I looked at him quizzically. "Venus Zoey King... I know this is all so messed up.. I do. I know you don't really understand what's going on. I know you don't really know who you are. I know you think I'm insane. But I've been watching over you, even before Irina turned you human. You meant everything to me then, and you mean everything to me now."

My heart was beating faster than I thought possible, and my body was shaking. My chest constricted, and I squeezed his hands. "Damiar.." He took a deep breath as he laughed at himself. He let go of my right hand, raking his own through his hair and shaking his head. "Damnit, maybe I am insane..." I laughed, which seemed to surprise him.

"Dami, if you're insane, then we both are. Hell, four days ago, if you had told me that angels had kids with each other and that I was the daughter of Lucifer, I would have called the cops on you and have you put in a mental asylum. But given everything that's happened, I know it's true. And somewhere in all this shit, I've fallen in love with you."

The words slipped through my teeth faster than I could have stopped them, but looking into his eyes, I knew that he wanted to hear those words. His breath stuttered, and he swallowed, his hands moving to cup my cheeks. "Do you mean that?" He asked, his voice not even a whisper. "Yes." The answer was confident, unhesitant. His lips brushed mine as he tugged the jacket off of my body and kicked the door closed.

"I love you, Damiar Krogh."
"I love you too, Venus King."
