I glared up at Cap, and my mind was screaming at me to take him down. But as entertaining as the thought was, I knew that the others would stop me. Well, Waylon wouldn't... "Damiar." "I heard you!" I spit back at the dragon, frustration coursing through my body. "I just want God dead, okay?! And if Venus is more powerful than me, he'll be too distracted to even bother with me. I'd be able to catch him off guard!"

"So putting your mate's life at risk is your solution?" I growled, turning to Noen. "Stay out of this, demon." "Damiar..." I was slightly surprised at the softness of Venus' voice. "I love you. I'll do whatever you want me to. But killing the only people willing to help us? What were you thinking?" "He's insane," Caleb snapped, shaking his head condescendingly. "Either that or stupid." I wheeled around to face the angel, my lips curled back over gleaming fangs.

"You're one to talk! You're Death! You couldn't love someone even if your life counted on it!" Azrael's fur fluffed out as a demonic growl rumbled in his throat. "I've known her for a day, and I already have more respect for her than you ever will." My vision turned red. My blood hummed in my ears. I could feel the harsh beating of my heart in my head. "I'll kill you," I muttered. My claws dug into the palms of my hands, slicing the flesh open. "I'll kill you!" I shifted into my true form so suddenly that it was almost painful, and still blinded by rage, I flew at him.

I was swiftly pinned by a creature pure white and only slightly larger than me. "Venus?" "Stop this," she hissed, her lioness head snarling at me while her zebra head snorted furiously. She was pissed. "You are in the wrong here. You're digging a hole that you won't be able to crawl out of. Keep this up, and there won't be a creature in this universe that will be your friend." I fell silent, staring up at her. She stepped off, and I stood, shaking my fur out.

I could feel the raw embarrassment burning in my stomach. Noen shifted back into his human form and took Venus by her wrist, standing slightly in front of her. I wanted to protest, but her words echoed in my skull. I backed off as the group watched me carefully. Kai was the only one who stepped forward. "Damiar?" He questioned softly. I shook my head, growling softly. "You're right, Venus," I huffed. "I don't have any friends."

Kai scoffed in disbelief. "Of course you do! You have me!" I couldn't help but glare at him, but a thought manifested in my head, and I grinned. "Yes. I know. That's why I want you to come with me." "Go with you?" Cap looked my way, shocked. "Where exactly are you going?" "Damiar." I flinched as Venus wrapped her hand around my wrist, and I jerked it away, but her hold only tightened.

"I want to help you," she growled. "I really do. So you can't just run away from this. You made a mistake that you can't fix, but running from it won't help you." "I don't regret killing her," I scoffed. "What I do regret is letting you be the one who did it. All that power - wasted." She cringed away from me, and I fixed her with a cold glare. "If you come looking for me, you'll regret it."

Azrael stalked forward and roughly took her away from me, and I was beyond offended that she didn't fight him. "You call her your mate," Noen began sadly, "yet you treat her like filth..." I said nothing, deciding I would only be wasting my breath in the end anyway. My eyes locked with Kai's, and a silent agreement passed between us.

I didn't even bother glancing the others' way as we climbed into my car. Maybe I would regret it all later. Maybe I would wish Venus was by my side. But the others were completely oblivious to my plans, and when I tried to explain, they regarded me as nothing better than a monster.

I didn't realize how tightly I was gripping the steering wheel until I felt the material cave in slightly from the pressure. Great - yet another thing I had to replace. I was grateful that Kai didn't try to make conversation. I would have lashed out if he had. Everything was just a blur to me. I had to find that weapon that could kill God. And I had to do it fast. The angels were no doubt already on my ass, and I could almost feel the target on my back.

I was almost out of time.

A/N: Sorry it's shorter than normal. I just wanted to give you all something while I try to recover. I love you all.
