The storm that cracked over head made you jump. The rain pattered down so hard that you snuck out of bed to see if you'd left a door or window open. As you were checking the windows you spotted a sopping wet dog pad down the street. Narrowing your eyes as you looked closer you realised it wasn't a dog but a wolf.

It looked familiar and after a few minutes of watching it you realised it was Theo. Carefully getting to the door and opening it enough that you could call out, switching the porch light on as you went, you called out softly. After a few minutes you gained his attention.

As he plodded up to the door you rummaged through the hallway cupboard to find the spare clothes Scott had left. When you turned with them in your hand, Theo stood behind you, covering himself as he waited for you to address him. "You can get changed in the bathroom through there." You said to him as you handed him the clothes and pointed to the bathroom.

"I don't get why you're doing this." Theo said suspiciously. You'd made a bed on the sofa for him. He didn't have anywhere else to go and it was almost cruel to leave him outside. "I could just shift."

"That didn't work well for Malia. You don't have to stay. I just figured that..." You gestured to the sofa.

"Right... Well, thanks."

Letting Theo stay might have been a mistake. You felt sorry for him being in his wolf form, out during a storm. All the two of you did was bicker. After a few months you mentioned to Theo that if he was staying long term he should be paying rent, or at least pitching in. He could also probably benefit from a sofa bed.

This of course led to a new round of arguing. But Theo relented and agreed. He seemed to do that more often. He would be more helpful, the two of you in the house had been chaos but as time went on the two of you seemed to get used to each other. Or as used to each other as you could get when one of you regularly turned into a large black wolf.

Malia pounded on the door until you opened it and insisted that the pack needed you. She glared at Theo who was lurking in the doorframe of the kitchen. He'd made breakfast and been talking to you about his new job. The pack always seemed to interrupt when the two of you finally got along. "I'll be back in a bit, it shouldn't take too long." You said to Theo who shrugged and retreated into the kitchen.

The sun was starting to set and you hadn't come back. He'd been to work and was now waiting nervously. You kept him calm, he realised reluctantly. Deciding he'd paced around enough he started to walk to the vets where the pack had gathered.

"Where's (Y/N)?" Theo asked as soon as he walked in and saw Stiles pacing around.

"I don't know." He said quickly, abruptly.

"What do you mean you don't know? She came here and then vanished."

"Guys I found them, he still has (Y/N)." Scott called from the back. Stiles froze and gave Theo an awkward look before rushing off. Theo stormed after him.

"You guys lost her?" Theo demanded. The entire McCall pack looked uncomfortable, some guilty as they watched Theo.

"It's just a hunter." Liam pipped up before anyone else could speak.

Theo growled as he stormed off and left the building. He could hear Scott trying to call him back and convince him to calm down. He ignored him and kept walking.

I took Theo six hours to find you. It was late in the evening now. The hunter wasn't particularly skilled, or smart. Theo had managed to sneak into his hideout and was slowly creeping his way towards you.

"Theo?" You hissed as he reached you and started using his claws to cut through the ropes around your wrists and ankles.

"Shh, I'll get you out." He whispered quietly. The two of you crawled through piles of boxes that probably held hunting weapons. When something loud banged through the room you jumped, Theo rushed you towards the door. Stumbling outside you found the pack running to help you. There were sounds of pained cries and growls then silence. Theo stumbled out to join you all.

"What did you do?" Scott and curtly.

"Made sure Stiles' dad can arrest him." Theo snapped back. He glanced at you and jerked his head. "I imagine you want to get home."

"Sure." You said shakily. Leaving the pack to deal with the hunter you followed Theo home. "Thank you."

"It's fine." Theo said quickly.

"How'd you... you know find me so quickly. Why'd you even come?" You asked him. He sighed and let out an awkward laugh. The house came into view.

"Look... You've sort of. Become my anchor." Theo let out through a sigh as he awkwardly confessed.
