You frowned at Theo as you opened the door. It was your day off work. The first and only one that week. It was raining. He was dripping wet and yet he had the biggest grin on his face that you hesitated in acting on the desire to slam the door in his face.

"Theo?" You muttered through a yawn. You were still in your pajamas. You'd honestly opened the door because you half expected Stiles and Lydia with some crazy story.

"Want to come with me?" He asked cheerfully as if it wasn't the crack of dawn and pouring with rain.

"No. Not in the slightest." You answered.

"Oh come on. It'll be nice... fun... maybe." He said with a pleading voice. You stared him down for a few moments before letting out a long sigh.

"Fine. Wait inside." You said and moved so Theo could head inside. He grinned boyishly and stepped inside, looking around as he hadn't been in your home before. You left him poking round your living room as you shuffled back upstairs to get ready. Admittedly you dawdled. Half heartedly hoping that he would have gotten bored and left while you were getting ready. By the time you put on a few pairs of socks and your wellies, he was comfortably spread out on your sofa watching tv.

"Get your shoes off my sofa!" You complain and you passed him by, smacking at his feet. He dropped them off the sofa to the floor. He turned the tv off and watched you find your waterproof coat, bright yellow with so many zips and buttons that you'd never been able to fasten them all.
"It's not raining that bad." Theo said as he stood up and stretched.
"If it starts thundering then I'm going home." You warned as you walked to the door and started looking around the hallway side table for your keys.

He nodded, waking to the door and waiting for you. He led the way out of the house to his truck, waiting for you to double and then triple check that you'd locked the door.

He opened the door to the truck as you climbed in. "How far are we trekking?" You asked him. He didn't answer for a moment before sighing.

"Not too far. Some caves that I like." He answered hesitantly.

"Werewolves and their weird cave obsession." You muttered under your breath. Theo made a noise of objection as he backed out of the driveway and started driving to the entrance of the woods. The trek was longer than you thought. Theo was carrying a massive backpack that he'd stowed in his boot. On several occasions he had hurried out of sight and just when you'd decided you'd turn back, he would appear, looking flustered as if he hadn't realised that he'd left you behind.

"We're almost there!" He said eagerly. He vanished from sight again but this time he called out to you. Pushing through some low growing branches you spotted a large hollow in the bottom of a large cliff base. You could hear the water running nearby. The cave should have been, only half an hour from the Hale House. Which meant that Theo had taken you on an unnecessary three hour trekk. You didn't say anything to him, deciding to keep quiet as he grinned at you excitedly. "What do you think?" He asked.

"It's definitely a cave."

Theo rolled his eyes at you and shrugged, sitting down on a neat pile of large rounded rocks. He set the bag down on the floor and started to empty it out onto the other rock. He piled up sandwiches that looked rather squished, a bottle of water, another that had some kind of squash in it. There were boxes of other things that you couldn't quite make out but he seemed rather pleased with them. The last thing he set out was a small paper box that was squished in the middle. He grinned as he opened it and showed you two neat cupcakes. He started explaining what the food was but a small squirrel or chipmunk, you couldn't really tell in the low lighting the corner it was hiding in, snuck up to Theo and sniffed at him. Before Theo coud snap the lid shut on the paper box, it lept, knocking one of the cupcakes out and clinging onto the other it bit down and scurried away as fast as it could. Theo looked a little heart broken before running after it. When you went to see where he was going, hurtling through the cave to the opening in the cliff, you saw a black wolf chasing down the squeaking animal.

"Oh, wonderful. I'm left alone in the woods." You grumbled. Glancing to your side you saw Theo's clothes and decided you should probably pick them up out of the muddy ground so he could change back. You also didn't like the idea of having to carry the big backpack yourself. Or following Theo home, he was fast enough as a human, no doubt as a wolf he'd be home and back before you'd gotten halfway.

The sun started to set before you heard a scuffling outside. Theo snuffled in with something in his mouth. You watched as his silhouette changed back to his human form and he dropped the cupcake into his hand. "Got it!" Theo said cheerfully, catching the clothes that you tossed at him.

"That's great. But are you sure that you want to eat it after it's been in... several animals' mouths?" You asked him.

"Hey! I was one of those animals and I don't have germs... besides it's my birthday cupcake. Don't want to waste it." he said as he looked at the mangled cupcake in his hand.

"It's your birthday?" You asked him.

"Yeah... I didn't mention that?" He asked as he shuffled off to get dressed. He sat down on the floor next to you, putting his shoes on as he glanced at you.

"Nope. But, you know if we head back now, we could make the late closing of the dinner in town. They have pretty good chocolate fudge cake! Maybe we could have that!" You said cheerfully. He smiled and nodded. "We could eat on the way back. Plus, maybe we could crumble up your smushy cupcakes for the birds." You offered.

The two of you walked back, talking about the woods, Theo pointed out things that you could see or hear, even showing you a baby deer grazing as you passed by. If he hadn't said anything, you would have never known that it was there.

As you passed by a large acorn tree you spotted the squirrel, covered in icing and looking rather disheveled staring down at the two of you. You had both been crumbling the cupcakes as you went and several birds and small animals had hurried out to steal a few bits and head back to their homes. You held out the last bit to the squirrel who seemed, if they could, to be glaring rather disdainfully at Theo. It scurried forward and snatched the chunk of cake before running off, chattering as it went.

"You better watch yourself on the next full moon, Raeken. He's got a whole month to work out a revenge plan!" You teased.

"I think I could hold my own. You wouldn't let me hide with you?" He asked.

"And make all the squirrels in Beacon Hills my eney, not a chance. One time in school, Scott missed a lacrosse ball and Stiles accidentally hit a squirrel, knocking it right out of the tree. The squirrels followed him everywhere, They're pretty accurate when they throw acorns. Stings too. I'm not risking getting on their bad side." You said dramatically. Theo laughed and paused as he spotted his truck before pointing it out.

"Ok, so hunters, evil mobs of werewolf hunting humans and other supernaturals looking for me, you have my back. But psycho squirrels are where you draw the line?" He asked as he unlocked your door.

"Gotta have limits, Raeken." You said as if he'd asked a stupid quiestion. You could hear him laughing as he shut the door for you and put his backpack in the boot of the truck.
