"Great idea guys!" the group was running from a pack of ravenous wolves, "Not the time!"
"Oh, I'm sorry, that was rude of me, would later be better?!" The young teen screamed in response to Cassandra's comment.
"What even are these things?"
"Don't worry, just a pack of slayer wolves." Eugene shoved three coins into his water canteen and quickly changed direction, "Come on, this way."
"Dead end, we're goner's"
"Ever the optimist, eh Lance?" Artemis frowned, there was nowhere to go, "Please, don't eat me, I'm too chewy."
"Is now really the time?""Ah, who am I kidding? I'm probably moist and delicious."
"That's disgusting."
"It's not a dead end, lance. It's just got good acoustics." Eugene shook his canteen and the rattling echoed, sending the wolves into a frenzy of pained howls before running off.
"That was incredible, Eugene."
"Oh man, Eugene's back and better than ever."
"Yeah!"
"Great job, Eugene." He smiled at his friends, "Alright everybody, let's hit the road."

"Eh, anybody who's spent time in the woods knows that slayer wolves have extremely sensitive ears." Cass caught site of a familiar mop of platinum blonde hair on the roof of the carriage and grinned smugly, waiting for what she knew would happen next, all of a sudden, the smaller blonde let out a scream to rival a hawk, right in Eugene's ear. Startled, the Man dropped the reigns and tumbled off the front seat of the caravan.
"Huh, guess the wolves aren't the only one's with sensitive ears, eh, Eugene?" looking up, the dark-haired man frowned, "Ha ha, funny." She quickly climbed back onto the roof of the caravan as he got up of the ground, making a quick grab for her.
"I thought you were supposed to be the quickest thief in the 7 kingdoms. You're not special!" Eugene only proceeded to get more annoyed, "Come here you little..." he jumped, trying to catch her, missing and getting a face full of the hard wood roof, "Spider-monkey..." Artemis laughed as she ducked into the caravan through the escape hatch, locking it behind her.
"Oh, you're going to have to come out of there eventually! And when you do, I'll be ready, oh-ho-ho, I'll be ready!" Cassandra was stifling her laughter and Rapunzel just shook her head at his antics, "I wonder if she misses him."
"Misses who? Oh...Varian? It's not impossible, Raps. Those two were inseparable, after all."
"He was scared for her life after the siege on Old Corona, according to your dad, Varian wouldn't let anyone but the palace medic near her." Rapunzel informed,
"Well, he was all she had left. Her mother is gone, and her father is somewhere out there." Cass said motioning to the road ahead of them, "She's completely alone, so I think she's looking for something that feels normal." Eugene, over-hearing the conversation let the words sink in.
"Both of those kids have been through a lot." The Caravan came to a halt at the edge of a swamp, "Okay, so the black rocks have led us to a swamp. But, on the bright side...I was hoping someone would finish that sentence for me, this place is terrible."
"Almost as Terrible as the prison cell at the castle." Artemis had popped up out of nowhere again, "Ok, how are you this sneaky? How is it possible for you to make no noise at all?" she ignored his questions,
