Emma's POV
"What can we do to help?" Dad asked, and with that a wave of relief overcame me and the boys.

"Well first things first," I began, "We think we know who this new villain is."

"But, how?" Mom questioned. "I thought you said that Hawk Moth was the only villain in your time line, how could one just magically appear here if it didn't exist before?"

"That's on us." Louis replied bashfully. "You see, in our time line, one Hawk Moth sympathizer was caught. One person, other than Mayura, who was found to be in league with dear old gramps, and was put behind bars."

"The only reason she's not is because we're here. We've only heard about it in the stories future you told us, it seems like the whole ordeal was pretty discreet and no one really remembers the details, but she had carefully planned to steal the Miracle Box one afternoon when your parents were out," With that I gestured towards Marinette, "and while the two of you were on your date. It just so happened that dad got in trouble at school that very day, and your plans were adjusted. Instead of going on your date, mom came straight home from school and caught the thief red handed." I concluded.

"So, that day was today?" Dad clarified.

"Purr-scisely, father." Louis responded.

I heard mom mumble something about Louis definitely being Adrien's son before she continued to speak to the whole of the group.

"So in this timeline, because Adrien was in detention and I was giving you three a tour, no one was here to receive the thief; and in doing so, a new terrorist has been created." She summed.

"Yup."

"But, we do have an advantage," My twin reassured.

"And what would that be?"

"We know who this new Hawk Moth is, and she goes by the name Lila Rossi."

Marinette's POV

A shiver rolled down my spine the moment Hugo said that lying witch's name.

"Of course it is," I muttered, "it had to be her."

Adrien had sat down on the chaise by this point, and I quickly followed suite. His brow was knitted and his face scrunched, he was clearly thinking about something. I don't know how he managed to stay so focused during this predicament, though. There were so many things going on, I had no idea how the boy managed to hone in on just one piece of this new information.

"But how does she know our identities? Or if nothing else, how did she know the box was here?" He finally asked.

"That, we don't know." Emma answered, obviously upset that she was missing this piece of key information. "But what we do know is that she has her ways, and she will do anything to get what she wants."

"So how do we fix this?" I asked, still not ready to let go of that perfect future that was now within my sights. "How do we stop everything from shattering?"

"This one is easy," Hugo stood up quite confidently. "We take her down now.  She's already using the butterfly miraculous, and I'm sure she'll bond it with the fox just to spite you. Remind you that she hasn't forgotten about your rough history. To remind you that she's still Volpina. The sooner we stop her, the  easier it will be for time to travel back down it's natural course, the hard part is taking into account that she has access to all the miraculous excluding the cat and ladybug."

Chaton and I let this sink in, my grip on his leg had grown increasingly tighter as I considered all the possible outcomes of our situation. By the paleness of his face, I could tell that Adrien was doing the same thing.

After another hour or so of questions and answers, about both Lila and the future in general, we decided to call it a night. The kids left first, Adrien soon following them. He gave me a shy smile as he exited and closed the trap door.

It wasn't just any smile, though. It was one of his telepathic ones. Specifically, it was the one that said, "We can do this, everything will be alright. I'll see you tomorrow, and trust me, I won't leave your side."

Adrien's POV
The next morning as I made my way to school, all I could think about was our conversation the night before.

And man, I thought that fate was playing a huge, twisted game with us when me and my buginette found out about the love square. Not to mention the realization that between our classmates and kwamis, enough money and cheese had been pooled over our relationship to purchase a small island off the coast of Greece.

This though, this was a new level of twisted.

Fate was really enjoying this game, and I swear I could just hear her laughing at me from wherever she was, calling the shots. Just when the finish was in view, she stepped in and said, ha! You thought! And then she chucked our piece off the board and into a trash compactor. Yup. That was it.

As I entered Ms. Bustier's classroom, I took my spot between Nino and Hugo. Em, Mari, and Alya were smiling and giggling behind us, and just the sound of m'lady's laugh was enough to brighten my mood.

"You okay dude?" Nino asked me. "You look pretty tired."

"Yeah," I truthfully responded before adjusting my gaze towards my son, who was already looking in our direction. Sharing a knowing glance, I simply concluded, "I had a long night." And with that, the bell rang.
