quadruple update, booyah, bitches!

Whistling, you wandered through the crowds of the Battle City Tournament, stopping here and there to observe duels.

Finally, you came across a particularly interesting one.

A man with tri-coloured hair was Dueling some hooded freak for what appeared to be his friend's prized card- the Red Eyes Black Dragon.

You whistled appreciatively. You didn't Duel much yourself, but you knew a rare card when you saw one.

How'd a kid like that get his hands on that card? You wondered, knowing full well that he was around your age. He just seemed especially childish, so he earned the title 'Kid'.

You turned your attention back to the spiky haired duellist.

"My turn!" He spoke, and your heart skipped a beat.

Wow, okay, was not expecting that deep a voice. You raised an eyebrow.

The Duel came to a close with the freak nearly summoning Exodia, and then being exposed for cheating. The sexy guy won Red Eyes back, but the blondie refused to take it.

Only idiots let their pride get in the way of power, you thought to yourself, pushing through the evaporating crowd upon making up your mind.

"Hey, hottie!" You called, surprising both of the boys.

The blonde recovered his wits first and rubbed the back of his head bashfully.

"Who, me-?"

"Nope. Him," you cut him off, gesturing towards the necklace dude. "What's your name?"

"Uhh... Yami." He answered awkwardly.

"Cool name for a cool guy, huh? Hey, you mind if I steal him for half an hour or so?" You asked the blonde, who was still miffed about earlier.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." He sulked.

"Wait, Joey-"

"Naw, go on with your pretty girlfriend, pal." Joey crossed his arms and looked away.

"I don't think we're quite at the dating stage, yet," you said cockily, "But it's nice to know we have your support, Joey."

"Wha- hey! Whatever happened to pals before gals, man?" He cried as you pulled Yami to the nearest ice cream parlour.

As you came back from the counter, holding two ice creams, you heard Yami muttering to himself.

"Why aren't we switching back, Yugi? This isn't how this works! Wha- I don't care that you get nervous around girls-" He stopped when he saw you.

Alright, he's pretty much perfect in every other way, he had to have some downfalls, you thought, and talking to yourself isn't the worst thing ever, I guess. I do it sometimes, too.

"Here." You hummed, handing Yami his vanilla ice cream.

"Thank you..." he trailed off, looking st you expectantly.

"Oh, right! I'm Y/F/N. Sorry I didn't mention that sooner." You laughed.

The both of you ended up chatting for well over 30 minutes, and we're only interrupted by Joey knocking on the window impatiently.

"Come on, man! We're gonna be late to visit Serenity!" He yelled, loud enough for you to hear through the glass.

"Ah, right," Yami stood, before sliding his phone across the table. "Here's my number. I'd like it very much if we could meet again, soon." He smiled, and you swore you'd never even look at another male lead in a movie with even a slight interest, ever again.

You ended up meeting with Yami a few days later, in an empty arena.

Much to your surprise, you were invited onboard (not by Kaiba, mind you) with the rest of Yami and Joey's friends.

The battle city tournament finals eventually came to a close, during which you discovered you had both severe vertigo and and a severe case of feelings towards Yami. The both of you ended up becoming close, and he ended up explaining why his voice changed so often and why he sometimes appeared much shorter.

You were somewhat glad that Yami didn't have an imaginary friend, but at the same time, it also sucked having to share your crush with an adorable bean, that, although he was a great friend, was just not crush-worthy.

And that particular problem, unfortunately, only got more frustrating, as as soon as you stepped off of Kaiba's blimp, (that way he knew for sure you wouldn't puke (vertigo))Yami asked you to be his girlfriend.

It seemed that, for once, Kaiba did something right.
