"Are you guys ready yet?" You yelled impatiently into the chateau. Several sleepy groans were heard alongside shuffling as the majority of your group reluctantly left their rooms. Almost everyone was ready and dressed in their ski gear, save Duke and Joey. Maybe you didn't bang on their door hard enough.
You left the others to make themselves a quick breakfast in the downstairs area and navigated through the halls until you came to a stop in front of Duke and Joey's room. They definitely did not want to share a room, but even Duke couldn't argue against his own dice, which had been used to allocate rooms.
"Come on boys, time to wake up!" You hollered through the door, hitting it repeatedly. It opened shortly, showing Duke posing in the mirror with different scarves and a half-asleep Joey swinging his legs over the side of his bed.
"Eh... What's the time?" Wheeler rubbed his eyes, stretching lazily.
"If it said that it's time to duel, would that get you out of bed any faster?" You deadpanned. "Get changed quickly, everyone else is ready and we're leaving in 20 minutes, with or without you." You threatened weakly, all three of you knowing that Yami and Yugi wouldn't allow that.
"Alright, alright!" Joey grumbled, scrambling around the room to find his hundreds of layers of clothing.
With everyone finally fed, clothed and awake, you all left for the ski slopes in several cars. You were grouped with Kaiba, the driver, alongside Tea, Duke and Marik.
"So, Y/N, didn't you say that you used to ski a lot when you lived in Canada?" Tea asked curiously as you turned away from the blur of white landscape through the window.
"Snowboard," you corrected! "And yeah, I used to board at least twice a week for the whole afternoon. Have you ever seen those two trophies in my room? Those are from a few snowboarding competitions I entered a few years ago. Second place for an under 11s competition, and first place for a teenagers competition a few months before I moved to Japan." You recounted enthusiastically.
"Woah! Do you think you would've gone to the Olympics if you hadn't moved to Domino?" She asked.
You thought about it for a moment. "If someone offered, I'd have taken the opportunity in a heartbeat. But nah, it wasn't my ultimate goal." You answered truthfully.
"Do you know any tricks?" Duke joined the conversation.
                              "A few, yeah." You grinned.
                              "Cool!" Tea said in excitement.
"Snowboards aren't as cool as motorbikes," Marik spoke up, "But they're pretty cool I guess." He concluded. You were practically shaking with excitement at the prospect of returning to your beloved ski slopes. Just in case, you heaved you're equipment bag onto your lap and began checking you had everything. Helmet, check. Goggles, check. Boots, check. Gloves, check. Neck warmer, check. Custom snowboard? Definitely check.
Satisfied, you zipped the bag back up and rejoined the casual chatter, providing Kaiba with directions from the map when needed as the road signs became covered in snow.
Roughly 20 minutes in, you started to see signs for the slopes. Phones began to chirp excitedly as the entire group reconnected to share their emotions, and as Kaiba pulled smoothly into a parking space, the entire group piled out.
As you stood to the side, waiting for your friends to collect their hired equipment, you started to suit up, changing your shoes, sliding on your helmet, clipping your goggles to the side, and slipping your neck warmer and gloves on easily.
Just as you finished adjusting your neck warmer, the first of the group joined you. Tea stood next to you, carrying an armful of equipment. She had chosen skis. Chuckling as she struggled with clipping her shoes to the skis, you helped her, not being tied down to your board just yet.
