2: Coffee

Like Jimin's former group of friends had described him multiple times before, he was a walking, talking, ticking bomb; it was just a matter of time until he exploded. That was after they'd had a lot of arguments, so it made sense. It was in high school, during these times, that he was used to being pushed around, treated like a pile of trash, made fun of.

He didn't mean anything to anyone at that point.

Until, during the summer after graduation, he made the choice to leave his friends. It was hard since he couldn't stand being alone for too long, a small sort of fear of his, but college was his new start. It was the time when he could finally get away from constant bullying and insecurities.

Insecurities like the amount of money that he had weren't really able to be completely avoided, since one of his friends had way more money than he really needed, but he used it for good reasons. Donating, supporting causes, helping his friends when they were in a crunch, things like that. So Jimin supposed that it was fine.

He met his friends Jeongguk and Taehyung, the younger of the two becoming his boyfriend not long after. The dynamic in their trio changed after that, but he didn't really notice it much at first. They were still friends, they just weren't together as much anymore, part of the reason being that Jimin and Jeongguk had always wanted to be alone.

Still, the only person who remained with him throughout almost his whole life was one of his best friends, a girl named Ryujin, who was like a sister to him. The sister that he never had. Her family owned a coffee shop in a relatively quiet part of downtown which was frequently visited by the students living there.

He met her when she joined his class late one year, and he still remembered how they had first made conversation. She liked his drawing and asked him to teach her. He had always been one for the arts, he remembered her saying one year in between then and now, and how she was jealous that he was so good at art. At that same point in time, he had told her that he was jealous about how she was around coffee just to make her laugh.

The difference between the two jealousies made him want to both laugh and cry when he thought about it. Now that he analyzed it more, he figured out that he was jealous that she got to do what she wanted. Making coffee was something she had liked to do for a while now, and it hadn't changed.

If there was one thing Jimin swore that he loved more than Earth itself, it was dancing.

Oh, and coffee.

Dancing and coffee were actually two of the many things that he loved. Nonetheless, those were the only two things that he could remember at the moment, and he was currently craving the latter, even when it was sitting in front of him.

He decided to ignore the fact that he was just too lazy to move his hand and pick it up.

He'd already mentioned his love for coffee to Jeongguk plenty of times, but the boy didn't enjoy consuming anything that didn't taste like it had half a bag of sugar dumped into it. It was an absolute miracle that his glucose levels weren't spiking, since all he ate half the day was sweets, having a taste for that type of food.

The mere idea of eating candies, or even just sweet things, for a whole day was enough to make Jimin gag.

For the record, he had tried to convince Jeongguk to drink coffee thousands of times. However, each time, the boy refused to do so. It resulted in an argument, and it got repetitive and annoying.

The pessimistic side of Jimin told him to stop, and the dramatic part of him egged him on. Too chaotic for the capacity of his poor mind. Sometimes, he just didn't know when to stop, like when he wanted to snort at the thought that maybe Jeongguk was jealous that Jimin gave more attention to coffee than to him sometimes.
