Prompt: Write a scene or story that includes a character wearing a disguise or costume.
Story:
"Hey Rocco!" Gary yelled as I was looking through all the rubble and what was left of the bar.
"Yeah?" I replied standing up.
"Got one of the witnesses here, but clearly he lost his head. Claims to have seen a guy wearing a yellow suit and hat while his face was covered in a tacky green mask." He said as he looked at his notes.
"Green mask?" That spiked my interest. Was it "The Mask?"
"Yeah. You're welcome to talk to the nut job if you want." He points his thumb at the guy as I hastily look at him without moving my head then back at Gary.
"Thanks Gary, I got this one." I tapped him on the shoulder as I made my way through the rubble to get to where the witness was.
"Hey. Special Agent Rocky Balthazar, I have a couple of questions about the incident if you don't mind."
"I-I already told the officer everything I saw."
"Well he thinks you're a nut job."
"What? N-no! I was tellin' the truth, I saw everythin!"
"I know. Start at the beginning." I grabbed one of the few working chairs and placed it in front of the guy.
"Well. It was a slow night, but the place was almost packed. Everyone was distracted by Tina's singin', when this guy with the yellow suit and hat and a green mask shows up, takes one of the VIP tables over at the back and kind of flirts with Tina."
"So when did this sorry excuse for a gang showed up?"
"Around when the guy was getting a little feisty with Tina, 'cause she was almost kinda serenadin' the man at his table and the guy was just losing it. His head turns into these weird things like puppy dog eyes, gross long tongue drooling on the table, head of a wolf and then howls. Stuff like that. It was freaky."
"Then the gang showed up?"
"Yeah. I don't know what went down between them and the guy with the green mask, but the gang seemed to hate the guy's guts when they saw him makin' a move on Tina."
"Then all hell broke loose?"
"You could say that. I tell you man, this guy was no joke. He made anvils drop from anywhere, anchors appear from his hands, big safes drop from the sky, his hands turn into scissors, he can even make himself a tornado. It's why everything here was a mess. The gang didn't stand a chance against him! Even with all their guns and muscle."
"Uh huh. So you've never seen this guy with the green mask before?"
"No sir. Just tonight."
"Okay. Well, you get some rest."
"Wait. You wouldn't know someone named Rocco would you?"
"I do, why?"
"Could you give this to him? The guy with the green mask told me to give this to someone named Rocco from the police."
He handed me this small black box tied with a yellow ribbon on it. Looks like a wedding ring box to me.
"Sure, I'll give this to him."
He just nods and I walk away to my car with this box. Curious to know what was inside, I couldn't wait until I get home so I opened it right then and there.
Right as I opened it, I knew it had to be him. One day I'll catch the mask, but right now, I have to get my car cleaned from all this rainbow paint that he filled that tiny box with. I mean, how did that tiny box hold that much paint that it covered every inch inside my car with rainbows.
Who does that?
