Prompt: Write a scene that includes the number 100. For example, a Kindergarten class celebrating their 100th day of school, a centennial celebration, $100 bills, life lessons from a centenarian, etc.
Story:
"How did this happen?" Tina screamed at her unsuspecting subordinates with one hand on the telephone and the other gripped to the DJ's unfashionable 80's sorry excuse of a shirt with pineapples printed on them.
Everyone looked at her with fear in their eyes. Even her own nephew was a little taken aback by his Aunt's behavior.
Parties aren't that easily celebrated when you get to a certain age in your life, especially birthday parties. There will come a point in your life that you just wanted to be alone and dine in peace, because life is too real and sometimes it's easier living in a fantasy. But luckily, Tina is not all about that. Greg and Vicky had something else in mind for their grandmother who's turning a hundred today. They both hired Tina – an event organizer who specializes in birthday parties – to plan the uncasually "disastrous" party and sh*t show that's happening right now.
"What? Is everyone's tongues tied now that no one can speak? Fine, I guess I'll have to do EVERYTHING myself, it's like I'm the only one working in this company anyway." Then she storms off to fix one problem out of six and still counting.
One problem was the sound system, it wasn't loud enough for the audience. Jerry – the head supervisor – should've done sound checks before the actual event. Imagine a hundred year olds hearing? She's already partially deaf on that age, and Tina was furious that the old hag wasn't going to hear anything from the program. Her words, not mine.
Another was the grandkids, they brought their grandma an hour late because of "traffic" since nobody even bothered to check up and informed the guests about the time, Nicole. Even Tina had extra time to go to the gym, work out, shower and still be back just in time for the party.
And Another was the catering. Why would anyone feed an old person extra solid foods, Karen? Who did she think the catering company would be serving today? Angsty teens?
Another was the program. Again, Jerry should have been on top of this, since the celebrant got "delayed" no thanks to Nicole, the program should have been adjusted but no one seemed to do anything about it.
Yet another one was the stage background projector image. It was a nice cute smiling picture of the celebrant. With clouds and birds as background. Did Stephany thought this was a memorial for some sick and twisted reason? I mean, come on.
And lastly, the sound from the next door event was overpowering the sound from Tina's event. They were having a fashion show over there and everything went horribly wrong once they went into intermission. That's when Tina had enough of it, she storms to one of the revolving walls and was shocked to see what was happening.
A bunch of almost naked hot guys were dancing on the stage and it seemed that the organizer there – Ronny – was also a mess, because he was gripping his head when Tina got there.
"What's this? I thought I told you to turn your volume down. I even asked nicely this morning! I am trying to host a birthday party for a hundred year old over there and you are not screwing this up for me."
"Hey, back off lady, can't you see I'm having my own dilemmas here."
Then they both hear a bunch of gasps coming from the rotating wall, and sure enough, Tina's "party" went into the crazy dance number show that Ronny was not "supposedly" having.
"Oh my gosh Greg, Vicky, I am so sorry for what you're seeing right now, I wasn't-" Greg stopped her there.
"No don't be." Greg said.
"Yeah. Look at gammy, we've never seen her smile this wide since her golden anniversary with grandpa." They all looked at the old hag getting serenaded by a sexy dancing man on her wheelchair.
"Oh well, in that case, you're quite welcome." Sure, Tina wanted to take full credit for this, but... Well, she actually did.
Sucks to be Ronny though. To get your fashion show ruined by go-go dancers for an intermission and then get your show hijacked by an old person's 100th birthday party, when all he wants was praise and acceptance from his peers. Poor Ronny
