"I Didn't See This"

"What's Fusion?"

    Jasper told the whole story of how Aquamarine forced them to fuse to the Crystal Gems. They decided to let them stay with them overnight and leave in the morning. 

   Steven, after everyone had gone to sleep, went outside on the beach for a midnight walk. The stars glimmered overhead like jewels in the sky. A small smile crossed his face. Suddenly a noise to his left made him wheel around. A tall, pink figure stood three feet away from him. "Hey." the figure stepped into the dim light. "Lars?" Steven stared at him at him. "Yeah. I have a question." he looked at the wet sand. "Wanna sit down and talk about it?" he suggested. Lars nodded in agreement. Soon they were sitting on the sand watching the waves gently roll in and the moon illuminate the ocean. "So what's on your mind." Steven jumped right into the task at hand. "Steven, earlier today....what did I-WE turn into?" he said. The boy froze. "OH! THAT!?! Well that was fusion." he tripped over his own words. The younger male twirled his fingers nervously. "What's....fusion?" he looked out at the sea. "YOU really want to know?" Steven was astonished. "Yeah..... cause whatever we were I...liked it...I want to be that thing again." Lars brought his knees closer to his body. 

    "If you want to understand fusion then you have to BE a fusion." a voice startled them both. "Garnet! You were awake!?!" Steven gasped. "Steven, I have future vision. Yes I was awake." she smirked. "But I'll give you two some privacy~" her smirk widened as she walked off. "How do they do it." Lars muttered. A hand came into his view. "Well you heard her. To understand something you have to BE that something.... So Lars, will you fuse with me?" he asked. Lars was dumbfounded. "I-really? But I don't....." he sighed and placed his hand in Steven's. Soft music could be heard in the background. The two boys began to dance swaying to the music. Steven's gem began to glow. He spun Lars around and dipped him.

 There was a light pink glow and the same figure appeared again. "I'm.....back? I'm BACK!" The figure then froze. "But.... who am I?" he asked scratching his head. "That's a question for you to answer." he looked up to see Garnet next to him. "Hmm..." she held her chin for a while. "I think I'll call you..." she put her hand on his head playfully. "Stars..? You like that?" she asked. "Yeah I do" he added excitedly. Suddenly he glowed and melted away to two beings again. "Woah..." Lars whispered. "I think you understand fusion better now that you became one." the two looked up to see Garnet. She smiled. "Don't worry your secret's safe with me." she added. "Now who wants some hot coco?" she asked. "ME!!!" Steven exclaimed. "Lars?" he nodded. "It is kinda chilly..." he shivered slightly. "Last one to the house is a broken gem! Race ya!" Steven yelled sprinting off. "Hey!" Lars chased after him.
