Steven was in high spirts. It's been a while after he helped Lars understand. Although they weren't yet on speaking terms they didn't seem to have that uncomfortable silence anymore. In fact just yesterday he assisted Lars in baking cookie-nuts.
(A cross between donuts and cookies.)
He jumped up the stairs two at a time. He swung open the door whistling "The Emperor's New Clothes" by Panic! At The Disco. "Guys, I'm HOME!" he called. No response. He shrugged nonchalantly. Probably on a mission again. No matter, he has six bags of popcorn and a tub of ice cream to keep him company as he watches "Grey's Anatomy" all of season 12.
It was approximately five minutes to midnight and he was just ending the third episode in season 15 when he heard the door bell ring. Reluctantly he went and answered. "Hello?" he rubbed his eyes. "Hello, does a Steven Universe live here?" a tall blond with her hair in pigtails asked. "Uh.... yep! That's me." he struck a tired pose. "*Giggle* We got this postmarked a few minutes ago but had a hard time finding someone to deliver it cause all the other mail officers where either going or already home. Luckily I was on my way out so they decided to give the letter to me. Here ya go!" she gaily said handing him the brown covered envelope. Steven accepted. "Uh....thanks....?" he smiled a confused smile. "Bye." she waved and was gone.
He looked at the letter turning it over. It wouldn't hurt if he opened it.... right? He tore it open and read the contents.
It said:
Dear Steven,
If you are wondering where are your friends they are helping Home world fight a horrible threat. We ask that you come and help us cause we need all hands on deck. Please hurry!
Signed, The Diamonds.

He dropped the piece of paper. "Garnet.....Pearl.....Amethyst....went to Home world? That doesn't make sense. They never told me they were going anywhere. And if Home world's in trouble the Diamonds themselves would of told me..... but to be sure I'll go." he went to the warp pad in the middle of the room and was soon on his way to Home world.
