The next day Steven had to go to the Big Donut. Since Amethyst ate out her supply yesterday and threatened to make trouble, he was selected for the task. Pearl said it would teach him "leadership and responsibility". All he knows it's a waste of time. If she needs donuts she should just get them herself. He entered the shop, the cool AC hitting his skin reminding him just how warm it is right about now. "Hey Steven." Sadie greeted him. "Hey." he waved at her. "Aren't you gonna follow?" Sadie questioned as the son of Rose Quartz stared at the door his hand frozen mid-air. "No..." He sighed.

"Uh, are you okay?" Steven asked awkwardly. Lars turned around so fast it startled him. "Didn't I tell you TO LEAVE ME ALONE?!?" He yelled. "I-" "I DON'T want to hear any of your stupid EXCUSES!!!" He turned away, his eyes gleamed. Steven stood there motionless. He felt it all come back; the pain, the hurt pride, the feelings...? He felt his eyes well up with tears, his hand shook and clenched into a fist. A deafening silence followed, save the shaky breathing of Steven. He slowly backed away. If Lars wanted to be left alone then so be it. He kept backing up until he rounded the corner then ran in the opposite direction...
